WHY HE STAYED IN LEATHER

"Alright, mother. Let's see." Regina smiled as Cora stepped out sporting one of her outfits, looking cool and businesslike.

"Regina, are you sure about this?"

"Of course. Mother, you look amazing."

Cora stared at herself in the mirror, fixing her hair. "Oh, I know. It's just that these clothes… They're strange. Where is the Captain? Probably making off with your silver."

"I'll go and check on him." She left her mother to continue admiring herself and went to find where Hook had wandered off to.

"Captain, where did you- What do you think you're doing?!"

Hook had just finished changing. "Bloody hell…. Don't you knock?"

"It's MY house."

"Fair enough. You said you didn't have any men's clothes." He wiggled his eyebrows playfully and straightened up the button down shirt.

Regina, however, was far from amused. She could barely look at him for longer than a few seconds at a time. Why did the pirate have to be so nosy? He shouldn't have been going through her things…Graham's things. But, he couldn't have known. Hook knew instantly he had done something wrong. He stepped forward and lifted up her chin gently with his hand.

"Why the tears? If you really don't want me to wear this, you only need to say." He wiped away a tear that was close to falling. "We don't want mummy dearest to see you upset now, do we?"

She was put together in the blink of an eye. Though, the pirate was attempting to make light of the situation, her mother would not approve of her weeping like a child. She was stronger than that. After a deep breath, Regina sneered.

"Put those back exactly where you found them." She crossed her arms and waited.

Hook stepped back and raised an eyebrow when he saw that she wasn't leaving.

"Well…if you wanted a SHOW."

He started to strip and she quickly turned her back as she realized her mistake. He chuckled. She ignored it and once he was back in his old clothes, she turned to face him again.

"Hook, about the clothes…"

"They belonged to someone. Someone important?"

"I suppose you could say that."

"Someone…that I shouldn't mention to your mother?"

"Probably not. Though, she couldn't do anything to him now…" Her thoughts flashed back to a truer love, Daniel, and how easily his life had been taken by her mother.

"I'm sorry…"

"It's fine."

He moved closer again. The man really didn't respect her personal space. But, for the moment, she didn't seem to mind. She didn't mind his warm breath or his scent: a mix of leather and the open ocean. Adventure waiting to happen. And she didn't even mind the way his lips brushed ever so slightly against hers. If she just leaned a bit closer, she could-

"Regina! Did that pirate rob you blind?" Cora's voice rang out and her footsteps could be heard nearby.

The moment was over.
