The Amazing Adventures of Rorschach and Night-Owl: Buddies in Time

-

'Stop right there!' Rorschach yelled as he pulled his trusty stun-gun from its holster. 'You have nowhere to run!'
'Nowhere?' replied the villainous Moloch. 'Why would I run anywhere when, with this, I can run ANYWHEN!' Moloch reached into his coat, pulled out a pocket-watch and began to wind the hands back. As the hands turned, the Earth began to tremble. Harder and faster, side to side, nearly knocking Rorschach off his feet, the streets tumbled to and fro. A strange aura flowed out from the ground beneath Moloch and, in the blink of an eye, he disappeared – as if wiped from existence. Thinking quickly, the heroic Rorschach carefully put his stun-gun away, double checking to make sure the weapons safety was on because he did not want to accidently injure anybody, before chasing after Moloch - into the mystical aura and whatever exciting new adventures awaited beyond!

Meanwhile, in New York City, a mugger stood accosting an innocent damsel, attempting to pry her pet puppy from her frail hands.
'Hand over the pooch, lady!' he said. 'Or I'll be angry. And I don't think you'd like me when I'm angry.'
'No! No! don't take my poor Princess Fuzzyboots away! She's all I have!'
'To bad lady. Hand 'er over. Now.'
Suddenly, a masked hero dropped down between the scuffling pair. 'Drop the dog, dawg' he quipped, as he non-lethally disposed of the criminal before calling the police so that they could apprehend the suspect and provide him with any medical care he may need.
'Oh! Oh, thank you mysterious stranger! Thank you so much! How can I ever repay you!' the damsel gasped.
The hero looked down at the her. His hands trembled slightly. His heart throbbed faster. She was beautiful! He thought she was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen, though, in fact, every woman is as beautiful as she was and should be treated accordingly, though he was in love and can be forgiven for losing track of the fact.
'I… well… you could let me take you to dinner?' he said.
'Well! Isn't that a little forward? We just met!' she replied. 'But maybe we could… go for a walk. Chaperoned by a responsible adult of course.'
'Well, yeah. I think I'd like that…'
