*I don't own jane and the dragon or its characters
Oh man, seems like theres been a gap in the amount of time since the last addition to the story game. Anyway, I know this is short, but here's something. Hope everyone is doing well, and will enjoy.
The world twists about him, he absorbs the punches and half hearted lunges. Many faces crossed his path, many have been cross at him. Though mostly, they are cross at themselves. Laughter seems to belong to yesterday, smiles dampened by the throws of a misguided hand.
Not so broken, not so well, ever ready, ever eager. A tool, the mechanization of a man's hand, created for the purpose to hone destruction. Peace, it will never be his. Pulled apart, pieced together, he is less than original.
As he watched with unseeing eyes, there was almost something. Perhaps it was his countenance, his unassuming stature, or being in the right place in the right time, but there before him was the fool. To a fool, he serves no purpose, but they are the kin of circumstance. By chance they were both met by the fire girl, honored by her, but faired badly by her touch. What purpose brought, what nature forgot, what life misunderstood of the lifeless, they needed what they could not touch.
What was a dummy to do with a fool who had forgotten how to take a hit? Listen, he could listen with ears that could not hear. Sobs, silent, hidden, belonged to the retched creature that usually carried laughter in his bells, and wore smiles that lasted for days. With what a dummy knew, if only there was something he could do.
What could they do with what circumstance brought, but suffer in silence. Though, there were similarities between a dummy and a fool, their futures were not yet destined, but being written. And while they knew how to take a hit, they could put themselves back together, but they would always be somewhat broken.
