In an attempt to fight my current writer's block, I'm going to start trying to write a fic every day, out of whatever inspiration I can find- and you're welcome to make suggestions, though I can't guarantee anything.
So today the phrase 'ice in his coffee' wouldn't go away, so here's a fic centered around that. Enjoy!
Ps. No, I don't own it, I promise!

Rose would never forget the look of fury on her father's face the night Scorpius carried her home with her foot sore and swollen, Albus and Lily flanking them, shame-faced and shuffling their feet. It hadn't been Scorpius' fault that she'd fallen; he hadn't even known she'd climbed the tree. None of them had, until she'd fallen out of it with a shriek and landed on her ankle with a disheartening crunch.
She remembered glaring up at her father as he stood in the doorway, demanding to know what had happened and glowering at Scorpius as though it had to be his fault.
It had been Albus, clutching the injured arm that had prevented him from carrying her home in Scorpius' stead, who had begun to mumble an explanation. Scorpius, meanwhile, had shuffled past her father with her still in his arms, and managed to get her into the house and onto the living room couch with a minimum of pain, the others trailing after them as Albus continued to flesh out the cause of her injury.
Lily had taken up a stance at one end of the couch her eyes downcast and her fingers resting lightly on its arm as Albus' voice flowed through the room. Her father continued to glare, and Scorpius gave Rose a shrug and a slight smile before moving to the end of the couch, kissing Lily's temple lightly, and departing, clapping Albus on the shoulder as he left without a word. Her father had scowled after him, Albus' explanation apparently not having satisfied him, before he moved to examine her foot.

The next morning, Ron Wealey had woken up to find Mimbulus Mimbletonia slime in his slippers, jelly slugs in his pumpkin juice- and ice in his coffee.
His daughter, sitting across the table from him, had only blinked innocently at his accusatory stare and taken a sip of her tea.
