As night hit, the man knew that he would have to sleep. As a precaution, he launched the game in text mode and set it to connect to his favorite idle server, so he may continue to find items even in his sleep.
The day after, he woke up, and quickly rushed to his computer. He rapidly attempted to get on tf2items, to see what he had queued up the night before. In the list, he spotted something that certainly caught his eye. A Hound Dog! As fast as he could, the man closed down the command prompt box of fortress, racing to launch the game itself. This was the day he finally acquired a valuable hat.
As the game finished loading, the message he wanted appeared. "You have new items!" He hastily moved the mouse over to the "View" button, so that he may acquire the much-coveted hat he planned to use in trading. He went through the "Item Found" screens till he found the majesty, the Hound Dog!
He then turned his attention to the server browser, looking for a trading server with an open spot. Within minutes he found a trade_post_a4, with just the right amount of players. Without a thought he doubleclicked its spot on the server browser to connect. Minutes later, he entered the game, and began advertising the hat. Offers rolled in, some of keys, some of low-value unusuals, and some of vintage hats. The man accepted an offer of two keys, and after finishing the trade, went to his backpack. As fast as he could he used the two keys on crates. The first crate yielded a mere slate-colored paint, but as he opened the second crate, something wonderful was gotten. A Scorching Flames Killer's Kabuto!
Awed by his newly acquired hat, the man immediately clicked on "Go To Soldier Loadout" so that he could equip the majesty. But the sudden rush of adrenaline for this newly acquired piece of treasure had too heavy an impact on him. Just as he equipped the hat, he suddenly found himself struck by a heartattack. With no one around to help him, the poor soul collapsed dead, the last thing he ever saw his Soldier wearing the kabuto engulfed by flames.
Three days passed before anyone chose to check up on their unknown-to-the-world dead friend. However, one of his friends who shares his enthuasism for hats eventually visited, only to find no one was there to answer. After searching through the house, he eventually came upon the dead body of the man who was once his friend. As opposed to confirming the man's death, the friend instead thought to take the deceased hat enthuasist's account as his own.
