Deutschland, Deutschland Über Alles

Inhale, exhale; steady breath

Faster, now, don't mind

The bodies as they drop

"Like a stone creating a ripple effect."

The air bears a crushing burden:

Salt from unshed tears,

Iron from unbled bodies.

Shrieks of pain are not uncommon—

Many have been tainted by the Aryan red.

Lies become your only friends;

You feed them to the public,

You feed them to yourself.

Can you see the tortured images?

The repeating screams that become your world?

There is blood under your fingernails,

The one thing you cannot cleanse.

Poisoned lies and hidden spies,

Paranoia masks the demon inside.

Your neighbor is gone,

Look the other way.

"Mutti, why isn't the Führer blond?"

"Hush, now, Kind, don't open your mouth."

Gaze in pride at your Youth,

Ignore, in vain, what they will befall.

Hail your leader, sing loud and proud,

Hands raised to the sky,

The masses come alive:

Deutschland, Deutschland

Über alles in der Welt,

Wenn es stets zu Schutz und Trutze

Brüderlich zusammenhält

Von der Maas bin an die Memel

Von der Etsch bis an den Belt

Deutschland, Deutschland über alles,

Über alles in der Welt!

This is a poem that I wrote for a History project (on WWII/the Holocaust). Coincidentally, it fit well with Hetalia. So, yeah. I had to post it. To my DWT readers: Do you hate me for not updating Dark Water Tides? I don't blame you, haha. Now, you're gonna be really mad at this: I have written absolutely nothing of chapter nine. As a conciliation, I have planned out the chapter, and once my (new!) laptop arrives, I'll write the chapter. Also, the second part of Erogenous is already written. I just have to transfer it to the computer. Everything will be up by this weekend :D
