The Mystery: Ch.1

The forest was quiet and no one was out there. The birds chirped and deer ran through the forest scared about what was coming. Two men popped out of nowhere and started to talk.

"So, you got the general plan?" The first man spoke as he lit a cigar. He smoked it and a ring of smoke can out of his mouth. He smiled evilly as he threw down his cigar on the forest floor and smashed it.

"Yeah boss, I got the plan…..we begin tomorrow?" The other man asked and looked around to make sure no one was listening.

"Yes agent…..we must….otherwise it won't work!" The first man yelled and a flock of birds flew out of the tree above them.

"Ok….ok……don't yell….someone might hear us!" The other man yelled in a hushed whisper.

Both walked out sneakily to make sure no one saw them. They both started to cackle with laughter. Lola was shaking with fear as she was being scared by her own nightmare. Then she woke up and screamed. Sweat was falling down her face in bullets. She shook her head and got up to get a drink of water.

What a strange dream...it seemed so real…Was is real? I sure hope not…She thought and walked to the cabinet to get a glass and fill it up with water. What if it was real…..how would I be able to dream about this stuff…what's going on?

The next day was strange. She woke up and she felt like nothing had happened when she clearly remembered having the dream. It felt so strange seeing all this and not knowing what was going on. The sound of cars honking started up as she got dressed. She lived in New York City and it was always busy each morning. She heard the dog next door start to bark again as it did every morning. She hated that dog so much….it never shut up.

" Hello darling…..I have breakfast for you on the table." Her mom responded as Lola walked downstairs.

She smiled and sat down next to her older bother Matt who was reading the newspaper.

" Thanks mom." Lola said quietly and silently at her cereal.

" Honey….what's wrong….you seem different today?" Her mom asked as she sat down.

" It's nothing ok……I gotta to go….Mat can you drive me to school?" She asked anxiously.

" Sure squirt…..lets go." Matt answered and grabbed his car keys.

They both sat there in silence. Matt turned to his sister but decided it was best not to ask. He turned up the radio but then turned it back down and turned to his sister.

" What's really up squirt? You were acting weird today…..more than usual.." He laughed at the end.

" Listen…I really don't want to talk about it ok….can we just go?" She asked angrily and turned towards the door and stared out the window.

" Ok…whatever." Matt responded and turned on the car and drove to her school.

Everyone at school was talking and waiting for school to start. Their school didn't start until 9:00 a.m. and it was only 8:00 a.m. The jocks were shooting hoops and the cheerleaders were staring at them. Matt pulled into the school parking lot in his old '97 mustang, top down singing to the oldies. Lola stared at him and rolled her eyes. She blushed as they pulled into a parking spot. He was a senior and she was a freshman. All the jocks came over and greeted him. Lola looked up and the cutest guy that she had a crush on…Billy Stevenson….walked over. He was her brother's best friend.

" What's up my man Matt-o…." Billy said and shook his hand like a boy does. Lola looked at him sheepishly.

" So….what are you doing after school my brother?" Billy asked and Matt got out of the car and walked over to the benches to talk.

Lola stared after them . She had to biggest crush on Billy since the sixth grade. Of course…he completely ignored her and she was ok with it…she guessed. All of a sudden, she looked around and saw these two guys walking into the school. They looked so familiar. Then she realized who they were.
