My prompt was 'ring' and my pairing Ron and Hermione. It was done for Mystii's FreeVerse challenge in the Harry Potter Forum Challenges.

Say the special words
The ones that meant everything to you,
He'd present the ring,
He'd ask the question,
And you'd say yes

A fairytale
That didn't take in real life,
You were caught up in a fantasy
Where you were beautiful,
&& your kids were cute,
&& he was just perfect

But it would never turn out like that,
You were both scared
Scared and worried and
Not ready
No, you weren't ready at all.

You were scared
Of love, of life.
Of everything that could get taken away,
You were scared of being left with nothing.

And you're scared of losing
The one thing you've managed to keep,
(Despite everything).
You're scared of a ring.

Because everything can get
taken away
And everything can disappear.

So you guess that all you can do,
Is wait, like a scaredlittlegirl,
Until that little bit of hope
Is enough to crush
That big bit of fear.

Until he pulls out the ring,
