Happy Birthday KHLegacy! I wrote this one for you.
We've heard a lot about the next gen of Kingdom Hearts (her version, not mine) and this is about one character that hasn't gotten too much spotlight but I'm excited to learn more about in the future.
I own nothing! Roxas, Xion, Ansem, Lea, Isa, Aeleus, Dilan, Ienzo, and Even belong to Square Enix and Disney.
Alex belongs to KHLegacy!
A Good Thing
Roxas paced outside the doors of the hospital room, his wife's cries of pain making him cringe.
"Calm down, pal." Lea clapped him on the back, "Everything's gonna be fine."
"I don't believe I've ever seen you this nervous before." Roxas turned to where Ansem the Wise, Ienzo, Even, Dilan, Aeleus, and Isa stood.
Roxas sat down and sighed, "I just… I don't know how I'll be a good parent. I never had a Dad or anything close to show me how to be one; caring for my wife is one thing but a child as well… how… how can I…?"
"Roxas!" Lea placed his hands on his friend's shoulders. "Calm down! Everything's going to be fine."
Isa crossed his arms, "Put it this way, you've never backed down from a challenge before so you can't back down from this one."
The young man nodded slowly. He still worried; after marrying Xion, he knew things would never be the same. Nothing was just about him anymore, all was for the safety and care of his wife, and now his child. It scared him, more than anyone else knew. Not just for the obvious reason that he was a husband and father; Roxas never had parents to show him how to do it right. He had never had a father to show him how to be a father or even a husband.
"You're gonna be fine." Lea continued to try and calm his friend down.
"You keep on saying that…" Roxas cringed as Xion gave out another yell of pain.
However, this cry was cut off by another, a newer, cry. Roxas jumped to his feet and nearly slammed into the door.
"Mr. Jusano." A nurse opened the door with a smile.
Pushing past her, lightly, he entered the room where Xion lay, sweating and panting, on the bed. She smiled at him before looking down to the little bundle in her arms. "Hey, say hi to your Daddy."
"Oh, Xion…" Roxas gasped in awe and wonder as his eyes beheld the infant. "He's perfect." The baby opened his eyes, revealing bright blue eyes, like Roxas's and little tufts of bronze-colored hair stuck out from under the blanket.
"Look out, love-birds, Uncle Lea's coming through." The pyro came over with a wide grin. "Look at that! He's the mirror-image of his father."
"He certainly is." Xion handed the baby to her husband, who smiled happily.
Roxas stared at his son; the moment he laid eyes on the little boy, all the worries he had moments before, vanished in an instant. All his thoughts were on this little one he held, who was perfect in his eyes.
"So," Lea stared at his friends, "What's his name? Will I blush?"
Xion laughed, "No, we didn't name him Lea… or Axel; close though."
"Then what did you name him?"
Roxas smoothed his son's hair, lovingly. "His name is Alex."
"Ok, that works…"
"It doesn't matter if you think it does or not," Roxas countered with a smirk, "we think it's perfect."
"Just like him…" Xion smiled as she took her son's little hand in hers.
The new parents looked at their son with a smile; nothing would ever be the same… and maybe… that was a good thing.
Happy Birthday! I hope you liked it!
