AN- Okay, so I know I already have a story out, but I wanted to get this idea out of my head. Anyway, hope you enjoy it and don't forget to tell me what you think about it.
Chapter One: Leaving for Hogwarts
"Make sure you stay out of trouble, James," my mother told my older brother as we prepared to board the Hogwarts' Express. Then she killed him with a tight hug, "We don't need anymore more owls from Dumbledore about your misbehaving."
As I heard this I snort. My brother staying out of trouble. James Potter? Not ever so likely. It would be like the world without gravity. Impossible.
Then Mum turned to me with an unsure expression, "Sophie, dear, don't slack off in your classes like last year."
I gave her a rather fake smile as she gave me a awkward one-armed hug. Fail in only two O.W.L.'s and then you're automatically an idiot. Can't help that I suck at Transfiguration because McGonagall is a bitch and History of Magic is a total bore. Professor Binns' lecture were impossible to stay awake in.
My mother frowned as she pulled away and gave a look at my father.
He walked over to me and pated me on the back, "Have a good year, darling."
I sighed as I walked away from them, knowing that they'd be shooting disappointing looks at me, but not really caring. Ever since I had been sorted into Slytherin my parents have never really treated me the same.
My father was a total Gryffindor, like my brother, who was a miniature copy of him. I mean, it's not like he hates me he just didn't know how to treat me. That and the man has never known how to treat a girl in his life.
And on to my Mother. She was also a Gryffindor, like my father. That's how they met, by being in the same year and house. Let's just say Mother has never really been able to hold out an actual conversation with me. We were just too different. She didn't understand me at all.
Then there is my brother, James Potter. The perfect child in my parents' eyes. Oh, look, James passed all of his O.W.L.'s. James is Head Boy. James is Quiddich Captain. James, James, James!
Never anything good about Sophie Potter. It's was always just why did you not try out for the quiddich team like your brother? How come you didn't pass all of your O.W.L.'s? James passed all of his. It all just seemed like why did you get sorted into Slytherin and not Gryffindor? Why are you not like your brother?
Eventually I found the compartment I was looking for. I slid the door open and looked around to see who the group of Slytherins I'd be joining this year are. On the left side of me there was Amycus and Alecto Carrow, Rabastan Lestrange, and Narcissa Black. On the right side sat Walden Macnair, Evan Roiser, and Regulus Black.
"Ah, Potter, about time you joined us," Rabastan said with a crude smile, "I just about thought you joined your brother and his hooligan friends."
"I would rather go to Azkaban than join them, Lestrange," I sneered as I sat down next to Regulus.
"As would we all, Sophie," Narcissa muttered before asking politely, like the respectable pureblood she is, "How was your summer?"
I scowled at the mention of the summer. James had all his stupid little friends over the whole time. It was terrible.
"Fine and yours?" I replied emotionlessly.
"Adequate, thank you fore asking." she answered swiftly before returning the her chat with the Carrows.
The whole ride was full of conversations like that. That is until the door of the compartment slid open, revealing her older brother and his tag-a-long buddy, Sirius Black.
"What do you want?" Regulus asked venomously as everyone pulled out their wands. Except me of course.
James glared at everyone in the compartment, "I would like to speak with my sister, Sophie."
AN- So, how'd ya like it? Good? Bad? Just leave a review. You never know... Reviews might make me update faster.
