Chapter 1: Darcy's POV
It was the first day of school and I had to hurry if i wanted to talk to Manny and Peter before the bell. I got to school just in time to catch Manny at her locker. "Hey Manny" I said as I walked up to her, taking an ear bud out. There was still an hour before school started. "Did you got the new cheer finished yet? It needs to be finished before practice this afternoon". Manny was the new head cheerleader, since paige gradded last year. "I promise it'll be finished before practice. Can we talk later?" Manny exclaimed. "Yea we can. Later". I was gonna be late to meet Peter, we really needed to talk . Then I saw him, he was gorgeous and a part of me wanted him, so badly. His name Jay, Jay Hogart. He was the badass of Degrassi, at least he seemed liked it. I've kinda liked him since last year when I dated Spinner. But i haven't really ever told anybody.
"Hey Peter, How are you?" I asked, giving him a kiss on the cheek. "Pretty good actually, I have a wonderful girlfriend" he replied happily. I felt terrible considering I am breaking up with him later, but it had to be done. I mean is it my fault I don't feel the same way anymore? and as they say 'there's never a right time to say goodbye'. "Congrats! Sweety, are you aloud to come over after school so we can talk?" I said nervously, "Ummm... I'll ask my mom later
when she's not so busy." He was looking in the direction of the office, I couldn't help but follow his gaze. And who was in trouble yet again? thats right Jay. As I looked over at him I noticed he was watching me. I couldn't help but smile and look away. The warning bell rang. "Talk to you later, hun" I exclaimed, and i left with a friendly goodbye hug.
Biology, calculus, and history passed very quickly, to my surprise. At lunch I sat with Jane, Mia, and Clare. Jane and I have been friends since pre-k, and our friendship is stronger than ever. Mia is a friend from the squad, and Clare is a cousin.
After lunch, I was on my way to the washroom to wash my hands when i ran right into Jay. I litterally collided with him. "Hey, sorry bout that. I should really watch where I'm going" I said sweetly. "You really should!" Jay replied smiling, "Whats a pretty girl like you doing in the halls during class?" "I'm on my way to the washroom to wash my hands an..." I said shyly. As I was speaking, Jay unexpectidly leaned in and kissed me tenderly on the lips.
