'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house

Not a creature was stirring, except for Tory and his mouse;

The e-mail he'd written to Colin was there

The telling of true feelings was too much to bear.

A look over his shoulder and a glimpse of his bed

He gazed at the idea while scratching his head

He put fingers to keyboard and started to tap

He would finish this letter before settling for a nap.

When all of the sudden there arose such a clatter

He looked towards the window to see what was the matter

Away to the window Tory flew like a flash

Tore open the shudders and threw up the sash

The moon on the breast of the new-fallen snow

Gave the lustre of mid-day to... COLIN! below.

His eyes were fixed, he couldn't help but stare

Colin had come over, he was just standing there.

It was cold outside, he made a decision so quick

"Come on in... hurry, before you get sick!"

More rapid than eagles Tory flew down the stairs

He was in such a hurry that he toppled some chairs.

"Oh Colin, oh Colin, why have you come?"

"Dr.Garrets made egg nog and I thought you'd like some."

Tory was taken with this holiday cheer

They sat on the couch, Tory trembled with fear

The two boys drank, the room was so quiet

The pounding of Tory's heart felt like a riot.

The lights on the tree at the far side of the room

Gave Tory respite for what he would say soon.

"Colin, you know I follow you each day...

that doesn't make this any easier to say.."

"Tory I think..." said the raven haired boy

"there's a reason we're here, sharing this Christmas joy"

A wink of Colin's eye and a twist of his head

Gave Tory the feeling he had nothing to dread.

Suddenly their gaze met, the silence was bliss

Tory moved in, to give sweet Colin a kiss.

Soon Tory held Colin in a warm embrace

They stared at each other, a smile on each face.

Colin discovered Tory was more than a friend

He hoped this moment; this Christmas; would be one without end.
