They meet in the night,
Each yearning for the light.
Both dreaming of what can never be
For revelation would bring disaster,
The shattering of their world,
The destruction of their reputations and friendships.
They meet in the dark
With ice and love shining the way.
Ice touches fur,
And shivers sweep through him
All the way to his blue toes.
But they are delightful shivers,
Never cold for it is the
Outside world that is cold
To these two lovers.
Together they have found warmth
For together they have love.
Fur wraps around ice,
Bringing him deeper into the warmth,
Closer against his heart where
He can hear the rhythm of his heart
Beating in time with his own.
They sing the same song,
Dance the same dance.
Slowly, one by one,
Their clothes fall to the floor
'Til all that is left between them
Is naught but fur and flesh.
They clash against each other,
Frantic mouths seeking desperately to
Sate hungers that can not be sated,
Quench thirsts that will not be quenched.
They clash until they meld,
Melting into one another,
Becoming one body as they are
Already one mind and one heart.
Again and again, they come together,
Each bringing the other to new heights,
Both always craving more,
Until at last, exhausted, they collapse
Into the safe, warm confines of
Each other's loving arms.
Sleep pulls at them,
But they fight back,
Refusing to sleep,
Refusing to miss even a second
Of their time together
For it is always far too short
And always brings another day
Where they must part and
Shy from the light,
Never, ever letting loose
One whisper of their night
And always longing desperately
For a new night
Where they can be together
And a world that will not
Fear or hate them,
A world where they can be together
Forever.
