This is my first fanfic ever. Hope you enjoy.
I don't own anything here, just the words.
Supernatural one shot
It was dark. Why? The hunter tried to remember where he was and why he was there. Maybe he should try opening his eyes…yeah, that was it, it was dark because his eyes were shut. He made the mistake of trying to open his eyes and lift his head to look around at the same time and was prevented from any movement by a wave of nausea and a shot of pain through his skull that had him seeing flashing lights on the back of his eyelids. OK. Not a good idea. He decided to lie still for a bit and get his bearings before trying to move again.
Where was his brother? What had happened, anyway? Were they on a hunt? It was cold in here, wherever "here" was…why didn't someone turn up the heat? Why did his head hurt? His body didn't want to obey his commands. He let out a soft moan and from some far off place there was something soothing, something familiar. It seemed to get darker and the cold and pain slipped away again.
----
It was still pretty dark…eyes still shut. The hunter still didn't know where he was or why he was there. He couldn't seem to drag himself fully awake. There were sounds, but he couldn't make any sense of them and the pain in his head was excruciating.
Where was his brother? His brother should be here! Was he alright? Got. To. Find. His. Brother! A familiar sound tried to come through, but it couldn't quite make it. What was it? It was soothing and he felt something cool on his forehead. He relaxed from the struggle and the sounds receded and the damned darkness came for him.
----
Where was his brother? The darkness was lighter this time. Maybe he could actually get his eyes open. The pain in his head was less and the sounds were starting to make some sort of sense. Clicking – that was one of them. Hmmm. Was someone typing? What were the beeps? He tried to move, but the aches in the muscles just wouldn't allow much. Another moan escaped his lips and then there was a voice – familiar – comforting and then a soft touch. Something cool at his lips and the voice wanted him to drink. He did. He trusted the voice. It eased the pain and the darkness didn't seem so scary this time.
----
He got his eyes open! The fluttering lids would count as being open, right? There was daylight coming from a slit in a curtain. He struggled to focus on the voice that was speaking softly and the figure that was before his eyes. Slowly they became the precious sound of his brother's voice and his face – full of concern, but also relief at seeing his eyes finally open and sort of focusing on him. "Welcome back; you've been out of it, kiddo. You took a nasty tumble, but relax, bro, the doctor says you'll be ok."
The hunter believed him and did as he was told. Everything would be alright…his brother was here!

A/N - I didn't designate which brother was in which position because we all know it would be the same no matter which was which.
