"What the bureau are doing is wrong. What they are doing is attempting to prevent imperfections. They are indiscriminately discriminating against anyone who they believe does not come from a family that is adequate. Do you not see how this is inhumane, brutal, a curtailment of our freedom to have family. I feel that people like you have misunderstood what it means to be moral. You are supporting an Orwellian regime which wants to remove anyone with the slightest damage to there genes. I guess its a slight shame my operatives damaged your jeans when they brought you here. Maybe your 'friends' will reject you now, but we're going to kill you anyway. It'll teach teach the bureau that their quest for purity will never be fulfilled."

As Jeanine spoke, I cursed wildly under my breath. Her perfect white dress and blue wristband only helped to make her more like a lethal angel. The scars on my face burned with my rage, a tragic reminder of the injuries I carried. A small man, face hidden behind lab goggles started to enter the room we were in. Held in his hands was a rack of boiling tubes, all marked with an X, containing a steely silver solution. A sudden glare from Jeanine sent him scurrying, as if a cat had turned on a white mouse with an intent for dinner. Jeanine returned her glare to me and spoke.

"Your cell will be cell ten, you will be taken there now. You are found to be guilty of treason against the people. Goodbye Beatrice, your amusing act is now finished."

A sarcastic kiss was all else I got from her and then I was gone. Lifted by the two men either side of me to a different part of the now expanded Erudite headquarters.

My cell is cold and minimalist, but the light burns brighter than seven suns.

I guess this is my curtain call.
