Dear Diary,

Today is the worst day of my life, I saw May, otherwise known as my angel, go out with another guy. She told me they're together now, I felt like I was gonna die, I lost my chance to be the one I loved most. In case your wondering, his name is Josh, he has brown hair and brown eyes and some girls would consider him gorgeous, but that's May, she always gets what other girls would kill for, like my never ending love. I was made to love her, to adore her every move, to watch her on the hands of another man. Sometimes I regret why I had been such a coward. Why didn't I have enough courage to tell her? Was it because I was afraid of rejection? Yeah, that was it. But rejection would be better than to watch her with another person, wondering would happen if I had told her… wondering if she could have accepted me.

I put my pen down and read what I wrote. I sighed as a few drops of tears escape my eyes and fell to the pages of the leather diary, soaking it. Stop; I told myself; I'm not supposed to be like this. I sniffed and brushed some hair out of my eyes, I remembered all the times when we were kids, and I flipped my hair continuously, trying to show off to her. I heard the door bell ring and I wiped my eyes. I ran to the door of my apartment and opened to see May, as beautiful as always. Her hair had grown over the years; it reached her mid-waist and was slightly curled at the edges. She was wearing a lavender sweater and black jeans.

"Hi, May," I said, giving her a faint smile.

"Hi Drew," she said stepping into my apartment. We had become friends a few years ago and we usually visited each other so it was not a big surprise to see her at my door step. She sat her dainty figure down on the couch and I sat next to her.

"So what's up, May?" I asked breaking the silence between us.

May bit her lip and I could see tears welling up in her eyes. She threw her arms around my neck and started to cry on my shoulder. I blushed at the sudden intake but I quickly shook it off; May's taken; I told myself. I stroked her soft brown hair and patted her back gently, "What's wrong, May?" I whispered.

"I…broke…up…with…Josh," she said between sobs, "He…He cheated on me."

I swallowed hard and tried to soothe her, "Its ok, May, there are lots of people better than him, lots of people who would love a girl like you from the bottom of their hearts."

May look up from my shoulder, "Are you sure?" she asked, her beautiful sapphire eyes sparkling with tears.

I smiled and wiped a tear away from her cheek, "I'm very sure."

"How do you know?"

I took a deep breath; Time for the big moment of truth; I thought. "I know because that person is me, I love you from the bottom of my heart. I always had, since we were kids." I closed my eyes and waited for the rejection. Instead I found her warm soft fingers on my cheek.

"I'm glad you admitted, Drew," she said, smiling, "I guessed it, but I didn't dare to ask you, I started to go out with other people instead to get my mind off of you, but-"

"Shh..., I'll take it as a yes?" I asked her hopefully.

May nodded her head playfully and smiled her beautiful angelic smile, "Yes."

I pulled her close to me and leaned in, she did the same, our lips met each other perfectly and as I kissed her, I knew that today was also the best day of my life.
