A big shout out to all of you who have read and favorited my other 2 stories. I don't know if you know this but it really has made my week. You guys are the best! Seriously, thank you all very much. I'm still learning so hopefully the writing gets better. I do hope you enjoy this one. I have been dreaming about CS for three weeks now. Weird I know. But its not often that you get your OTP to finally be happy together!
Why is it so important for me to have two fictional characters kiss?! What went wrong with my life? Ah well, nothing to do about it now, eh?
Disclaimer: I do not own Once Upon A Time. Even if I asked Santa to bring it to me for Christmas. *sigh*
Sunrise was her favorite part of the day. "Not anymore" she thought. "It's definitely twilight now".
It was twilight when he uttered those three words that he had shown through his actions more than a hundred times perhaps. She heard them ringing through the room, echoing into silence, felt the aftermath of them on her skin that was followed by a heart and stomach lurch. Her heart beat so loudly, she was surprised the whole town hadn't gathered at their house to see what the problem was.
"I love you."
They were watching the sunset together from their bed. Emma's eyes closed as she let herself absorb what she just heard and felt. But for the life of her, she couldn't form the words with her own mouth. Instead, she pulled towards him more tightly burying her face in his neck and held him for a long time hoping that it would convey what she felt. He understood as he always did and always will. Killian pulled her closer until they both cursed their skin that kept them apart, hated the bones that made them be apart. "So another definition could be added to Love" she thought, "To be one." He pressed a kiss to her head and she sighed. Guilt engulfing her because she couldn't return those three syllabus.
"It's all right, Swan." He whispered.
But it wasn't in Emma's mind. She wouldn't loosen her hold onto him and they stayed that way for a while until the sun sunk down taking away the golden rays and the stars came up to dance in the sky. Killian's head tilted a bit to the left and she could feel by the slow way his chest raised and fell that he was asleep.
The words were there on the tip of her tongue. There was no one to hear her except the flowers he brought her this morning and the crickets outside. She shifted herself a bit, so she could look into his closed eyelids and whispered: "I love you."
"I love you"
He felt it as it collided with his heart that was overflowing with adoration for her. It took all the strength in the world not to open his eyes and pull her in for a bear hug and a kiss. He couldn't ruin the moment. So he kept the secret.
It became a tradition for them. Just before falling asleep, he would whisper I love you into her hair and she'd wait until he's in deep slumber to return them. Killian treasured those moments more than ever. No matter how tired he would be, her voice saying it had to be the last thing he heard before he fell asleep. No matter how long it took, Killian would wait for the day when she would say them back to him. One day, she did.
