A/N -This is half inspired by the film and half inspired by the recent stage show production of the Musical. After seeing it in London I was inspired.

Summary: Set straight after the song'By The Sea' Mrs Lovett asks Sweeney about his feelings.

Disclaimer: I own absolutely nothing.

She finished telling him of her dreams, how she wanted to live by the sea. Her memories of her feet in the briny. Sweeney looked on at thin air, not really listening to her musings about a life with him. He hadn't thought about what he would do after he avenged his Lucy. Would he live with Nellie Lovett for the rest of his life? They definitely had some sort of relationship. Mrs Lovett constantly told him of her dreams of a life together and how she would always stand by him. He remembered how she tried to calm him down about the Beadle not visiting his barber shop like her promised. She tested his patience, telling him to wait. Talking about flowers, not that he was interested. It was only at the end of her discussion about how he should wait, that he felt her light touch on his arm. She moved her hand up and down his fore arm, sitting down beside him on the empty trunk. It was at that moment that their eyes locked and they began to lean in closer. Their faces inching closer to one another before the sailor Anthony burst into the room, shouting about how he had found Johanna.

She heard Sweeney let out a sigh, he had no expression on his face, he was simply staring straight ahead. Mrs Lovett knew that this was her chance. She bet her head towards him, capturing his gaze with her own;

"C'mon Mr T, give me a little kiss." She said, her head leaning in slowly to capture his lips with hers. Her lips brushed his and before she could think she was grabbing hold of his face, pushing his lips further onto hers. Sweeney barely moved. His arms didn't move up to her waist, but he did move his lips against hers. He could taste her, and almost feel her desperation. He thought of bringing his hand up to her face and cupping her cheek with his hands, but he stopped himself. Mrs Lovett pulled her lips away from his.

"Well that was lovely." Nellie said to him before pushing herself away from him and beginning to back away slightly; wary of the fact that his moods changed incredibly quickly.

"Mr T, can I ask you something?" Nellie asked the wind licking at her hair as she sat down on the mat they had laid out on the grass.

"Of course." Sweeney said, his eye line had dropped to the ground.

"You do love me, just a little bit don't you?" Nellie asked, her hands clutching at her dress as she let her nerves overwhelm her.

"Whatever you say." Mr Todd said, before he could register what he had just said Mrs Lovett's arms were wrapped around his neck and her lips were in contact with his. He fell onto his back and fell into an awkward position, with Mrs Lovett lying on top of him and his legs still in their previous position. But even he could admit that she was a good kisser, and for those few brief moments he could really imagine a life by the sea with Nellie Lovett.
