Heart of the Hawk

Heart of the Hawk

Now the predator,

Once the prey.

Screaming as my days

grew dark and grey.

Blood, flesh, beating hearts,

My life is nothing but a deck of cards.

Shuffled, played, tossed down

My torture, my misery, pound by pound

I screamed as I did what nature carved

And it screamed as I starved.

Two creatures, anything but alike

Days of living like walking on red-hot spikes

One simple, the other searching for a true destiny he'll never find,

One ruthless and instinctive, one so deep and kind

But although for different causes, both shares a common goal

Two different minds, one united soul
