This idea woke me up in the night. Fresh ideas don't tend to last through sleep, so I had to go for it right there. Any sleep deprivation was worth it, and night ideas are some of the best ideas.

And after a long hiatus, I've returned with more chapters than just the first. Everything below was revised, but it's still mostly the same as before. But better? Yes…?

It's a brave new direction I like to call "hot Rin/Len nonsense," tell me what you think. Hope you enjoy~

Night Shots

Rin stood there at the door for a long time, waiting, camera in hand and statue-still. It was two in the morning, and every light in their apartment had been switched off. She couldn't sleep.

It was quiet. She had been walking, silently, slowly opening and closing her bedroom door, stepping down the hall on her toes. But still, the deafening silence of the building made her feel like every breath she made was going to wake up the neighborhood. Thankfully, most of her living mates were out on vacation; none of them would be back for several more days. But it was not totally empty. Rin was still there. And, as she stood outside her brother's bedroom door that night, she knew that he was there, too.

She shuffled her bare feet back and forth as she hesitated on what to do, dragging them slightly along the carpet and making little rubbing noises without actually going anywhere. Her hands tapped fingers on her thighs and her arms were stiff. She could feel the cool air hitting her from the hall vents, but she couldn't even hear that they were on over her heartbeat. Her thin pajamas shifted on her, not heavy enough to hold onto her tightly and not thick enough to keep her much warmer. Her eyes had adjusted to the dark, and if she could see herself standing there she would have looked like a soft orange beacon in the black. She didn't notice if she was really getting cold, though. She was focused, in a cloudy-minded sort of way.

'It's… It's been so long since I've done anything like this…' she thought. 'I… forgot how nervous I get.'

She was just a foot or so outside of Len's bedroom door, and she couldn't bring herself to go on. Her face was flashing between red and white as she tried to keep herself under control. When her blood started flowing like that, it was so much harder to stay composed. 'If I'm doing this,' she thought, 'I really need to be calm.' She started taking deep breaths— slowly, so she didn't make any noise. It didn't help; it just added the sound effect of a girl breathing very, very quietly, and noticeably very nervously.

She sighed at last, and wondered aloud in a low, low whisper, "What am I doing here…" She clutched the camera in her hand tightly. "This is a baaad idea, Rin…"

She couldn't help it. It had been too long since she did anything daring; the last time was… When even was the last time? What did she even do? Thinking about it, Rin listed, 'It was the same camera, the same time of night…' Rin thought, '…The same brother.' The pajamas she wore were different, but that was about it. And of course, they were both older. Older by enough.

She stopped tapping her leg and started inching her arm forward. 'Well… If I don't do something…' She gulped. 'I'll never do anything.' Even so, the going was slow. She was moving, but she was barely any closer.

The thought of going through the door filled her with trepidation. On a normal day, she might go into her brother's room a few times, be around him all the time, and never feel nervous about it. But in the early hours of the morning, it was anything but a normal day. Rin wasn't going in there to ask for help on her homework.

Eventually, she put her hand on the doorknob, and wrapped her fingers around it. She turned it excruciatingly slowly; Rin suddenly became very aware of the noise opening a door could make. When she turned it all the way, she pushed in, slowly, slowly… The bottom of the door dragged on the floor for a second, and Rin was afraid that it would make enough noise to wake him up.

It didn't.

With the door open, she stepped inside, and she noticed how different things looked in the dark. Len's room was still as it usually was, but with just the blue tint of moonlight breaking through the windows, everything looked somehow distinctly different. Rin felt it was like breaking into a new environment, a place where she really was not supposed to be. Which, actually, she sort of was. But it only felt like she was breaking and entering when she actually got inside. Up to then it just felt like she was doing something really embarrassing, and really dirty. Which, actually, she sort of was.

The moonlight made it easier to see, and with a little more light to work with, she nudged the door nearly shut and went further in. On the opposite side of the room from the bed, she turned the camera on. It was made to take pictures in the dark without having to flash, and she could even take pictures without the screen being on. She wouldn't be able to see exactly what she was taking a picture of, but there wouldn't be any light from the screen, or any flash to wake up who she was aiming at. Much safer. 'To make up for it,' she thought, 'I'll just… take lots of pictures. It'll be fine.'

The camera was ready. Rin gulped down her fear and walked to the bedside of her brother. 'Okay… Let's do it.'

Len was sleeping quietly, barely making a sound. Compared to him, Rin's breathing made her think it must sound like she was hyperventilating. The sheets went right up to his neck, but he wasn't holding on to them. They were just loosely covering most of his body. 'I could easily… just…' She reached out her hand, but she stopped herself. '…Maybe later…' She brought her hand back, leaned a little over him, and pointed the camera at Len's face. '…Smile.'

She took a picture of him while he slept. As her finger lifted off the button, she felt a bead of sweat on her forehead, and she took another one. Blushing as she leaned over just a bit more, she moved the angle to what she hoped was better, and kept snapping quiet photos.

It was supremely embarrassing for her. Or, it would be, if anyone knew she was doing it. Rin herself did a sort of mental block to keep herself separated from her actions— but not so much that she wouldn't enjoy it. And she enjoyed it. It wasn't even so much the pictures that were getting her off, it was just the voyeurism was so good. She didn't care if it was weird. It was great.

Rin was holding her weight up by pressing down with her toes, and touching the bedside with the front of her thighs; she looked down at Len from right above him. His mouth was just a little bit open, and Rin's heartbeat starting speeding. 'Oh… Oooooh…' She bit her lip. 'I'm… I'm sooo tempted…' She continued taking pictures and shifting around just a bit at a time. Eventually, she felt she had taken enough from there.

Stepping back, she looked at him.

"…"

Very, very slowly, Rin place her camera on the floor and reached out and pinched the end of his bed sheet.

Len moved slightly, and Rin nearly jumped, almost dropping her hold— but she kept it. With wide eyes, she started tugging it back. Bit by bit, the cover came down. About two-thirds of the way down Len's chest, it got stuck. 'Damn…' she thought. After a moment, she kneeled down. '…Well,' her shaking hands picked up the camera again, 'This will have to do. Don't need… to be greedy about this.'

Len was wearing basically the same sort of pajama set Rin was, only it was yellow, and for boys. It had a shirt that buttoned up to a few inches below the neck. Extremely loose-fitting, and deliciously silky smooth. Rin clutched at her own. The buttons were small enough on them that the shirt would almost fall undone on its own— almost without thinking, just by messing with it, the top button of her shirt fell unfastened. Rin looked down at herself and swallowed. The top couple of buttons on Len's were already open, probably for comfort. It showed a few inches of his chest that she would have to imagine otherwise. She would have to be satisfied from just looking, but…

As he breathed, his chest rose and fell just a little bit, in a slow rhythm that Rin eventually noticed she matched. She stood there, her face blushing as she reached out her hand again. 'This might be too much,' she thought. 'But I… kinda… want to see more…' Her hand was over him, just a few inches up, trembling. '…I want to see more…'

She painstakingly lowered her hand down, and placed her fingers gently around the highest buttoned button. She lifted the fabric a bit, testing it, and quickly pushed the button out in one move. Thinking to herself, 'Please don't wake up, please don't wake up, please don't wake up,' Rin's nervous and stoic face cracked a smile as Len's skin became more and more revealed. She randomly caught as many pictures as possible, almost fumbling the camera. 'Is the camera even still on? Is it pointed at him? How's the memory?' she thought. 'This would make for a terrible scrap book.' She mumbled, "…Still, I wouldn't mind having it for one."

She thought about trying for the next button down. Poking at it, she saw it was held tightly together; it wouldn't budge. She frowned, backing off. Still standing there, she looked at her brother, and then at the camera in her hand. She thought long and hard about what she was going to do. 'I know what I… want to do,' she thought. 'But…' She caught her breath. She took a step forward again. Rin leaned in even further.

She was directly overtop her half-shirted brother. She had to place a hand on the other side of him to keep herself from falling. '…Oh…' His eyes were closed, and his face practically glowed in the dimly-lit room. Her own face was bright red. 'Closer… Just, closer…' She slowly set the camera down on Len's bed. Their faces were inches away. She was nearly on him. Her breasts almost pressed onto his body— her just-parted lips almost fell onto his sleeping mouth. Rin's breathed deliberately, but her heart was in a frenzy. Her breath was hot, and fell directly onto Len's face, point blank. Rin's mind was telling her everything she wanted to do, to touch, to see, feel, experience in this moment, and telling her to take what she desired. Less than an inch from a kiss, her white-hot thoughts mumbled out loose phrases. 'Just lower, only a bit… Touch him, touch him with your… If you just get one kiss, then he won't wake up, he won't… Just… Just…!' Rin was right there. 'You're here Rin, just do it…!'

Her eyes fell onto Len's mouth. 'Do it.' She looked at him longingly, her brother sleeping there so peacefully. 'Do it.' She was as close to him as she could be without literally touching him; she felt ready to explode.

Then, in a pause, she had a clear thought. '…This…' She blinked. 'This really is a bad… bad idea…'

Slowly, her burning mind cooled down, and self-control brought Rin back from the brink. One at a time, she took her hands off the bed and gently pushed off to where she was standing for the first picture she took. She looked at her sprawled, sleeping, cute twin brother, and the camera left next to him. Picking it up, she wondered about what she was doing. '…Not enough.' Rin looked at him. 'At least,' she hoped, 'at least this, then.'

Rin leaned in one last time, and was over him. She held the camera out and pointed it at the two of them together. Looking at it, she tried to crack a little smile and got an embarrassed and lusty smirk for her efforts. Clicking it, she stood up and took a step back. She pinched the sheets she had pulled down back up, tugging them roughly back into place on Len's still-revealed body. The shirt would have to stay unbuttoned.

Tip-toeing backwards, Rin made her way to the bedroom door and slowly pulled it open. She looked back. Stepping out into the hallway, she moved as she slowly, slowly pulled the door shut, looking in for as long as she could. At last, she twisted the doorknob, and closed the door.

With a sigh, that was it, and she tip-toed back down the hall. Finding her own room, she was notably less careful and quiet when she got inside. She clicked her alarm clock set, and spun around. Before collapsing onto her bed, Rin set the camera on top of a dresser, longingly looking at it from afar. She closed her eyes, and waited to fall into the same deep sleep that kept Len thankfully unaware of what she was doing. Satisfied, but unsatisfied, she wished for more but was too tired to do anything about it. Thus, the night went on.
