Hall and Annie were in the kitchen, the house was silent and so were they the only sounds in the house was the occasional clink of the dishes that Annie was washing. Alex was out having fun with her new found ghosting skills and Tom was out doing whatever was that Tom did when he wasn't home, baby Eve laid in her bassinet sleeping soundly in the living room.
"Hal" said Annie
"Yes Annie?" replied Hal looking up from his tea mug, he never had a great liking for tea but he could tell that Annie liked it when people drank her tea so he drank it none the less. It was the least he could do for the poor girl she had after all just lost her family, he knew that to her Alex and himself were relative strangers who had suddenly barged themselves into her life.
Annie finished the dishes and grabbed the tea kettle reilling it with water and putting it back on the stove "Did you ever hear of a vampire named Mitchell?" she asked looking over from the stove.
Hal sat quietly thinking "John Mitchell correct?" he asked her
"Yes" she replied walking over the the table and sitting across from him
"I did, cooked himself up quite a reputation for being a ruthless killer, seen as a hero to many in the vampire comunity, then causing a stir when he suddenly left Herrick in the 60s to live a 'normal' life. Which is still very unheard of" said Hal looking at Annie how had a sad look on her face "our paths however never crossed" he said to Annie
"Did you know that he became a vampire to spare the rest of his men during the first world war? He was so much more than a ruthless killer Hal. He was funny and charming, he was compassionate and caring, and loving he would do anything he possibly could for the people he cared for, in the end he prefered dying over killing" a tear slid down ANnies face and then another "And most importantly he was the love of my life" said Annie in a quiet whisper "or should I say my after live" said Annie laughing a bit
"No, it sounds to me like he was the love of your life Annie before and after" said Hal reaching over and taking Annies hand and giving it a squeeze
"And now, he's dead. I'd like to think that I'll see him again, maybe when I go to the other side but I don't know, who knows what's waiting for us when we cross over"
"Perhaps you will Annie, don't loose faith" Annie nodded, Hal watched as another tear dripped down the end of her nose and splashed silently on the kitchen table
"Fancy a cup of tea?" asked Hal
Annie laughed wiping away her tears, watching Hal as he stood up and poured her a cup of tea placing it inbetween her hands and sitting back down across from her
"I belive you will see him again Annie, and I'm sure he loved you as much as you love him. Don't you worry" said Hal, they sat silently once more as Hal sipped his tea quietly and Annie stirred hers with a spoon.
