Mukurou was the predator of the night. He did cruel things to those around him just for his entertainment. He would even bother Mukuro to an extent. But one he would never bother was Chrome. She was extremely important to him. Why? That he didn't even understand himself. She only cared for him because he reminded her of Mukuro yet he felt as if he needed to protect her. Was it because she seemed so frail? Maybe she seemed just as lonely as he. Mukurou always jeered at her thoughts and feelings towards him. Mukurou was never seen as himself. That's why when he flew by himself at night, he felt free. Away from all that thought that knew him. With other owls who felt that they as well were judged.

"Kufufu~," Mukurou landed on a branch on a tree in full bloom near the Vongola Estate.

"Mukurou!" Chrome called out for him as she ran through the back garden. He flew over to her and landed on her shoulder. "Mukurou, there you are!" She smiled softly. "I was worried," she whispered.

"Worried?" He scoffed at the thought.

"Eto… is something the matter?" She frowned slightly. Mukurou made no movement and no sound. If only Chrome knew how he truly felt she wouldn't have those fake feelings of 'worry' to him. She patted him and gave him another one of her gentle, innocent smiles. "Try not to wonder off so far."

"Fufu~ of course," he nuzzled her knowing no matter how he tried, his heart would never let him betray her.
