I watched as the young man, and my old friend Arcade Gannon slowly walked down the street away from me. Seeing Arcade made so many old memories flood into my brain that I almost felt like crying, but I kept my composure and watched until they turned the next corner, and exited Westside. I immediately hurried back to my house, and locked the door behind me as I went in. I walked over to my desk and pulled out the hidden key from behind my computer terminal. It was rusty, I hadn't used it in years but it felt good to be holding it.

I knelt next to my bed, feeling my old knees crack, and pulled out a heavy metal box from under it. I placed it onto my dirty mattress and slid the rusty key in the keyhole, turned it, and made a clicking noise. I took a deep breathe and then opened the box. Inside it were memorabilia of my past as an Enclave Officer. Photos of my old squad and pictures of Enclave bases, maps of the Core Region, and even my old dog tags were in here.

Memories started to flood into my aged brain, from when I lead my squad to victory many times, over many missions. However, one mission stood out from all the others, the mission that truly challenged the squad as a whole, and me as a leader….

The Vertibird's loud engine and routers roared through the steel chassis of the cabin, making my ears ring. I tried to think about something to get my mind off of all the noise, but it didn't work.

I shouted up to front, the cockpit, to Daisy, "Hurry it up! Don't be flying to close to that town, command wants us to stay hidden and high! That's an order!"

"Aw alright, yes sir!" whined Daisy from the cockpit, turning the Vertibird slowly, making even more noise rock through my skull.

Morreno and Johnson bickered to each other about some trivial matter, but I didn't stop them, they're arguing canceled out the roar of the Vertibird. Our medic and tech, Henry and Gannon sat quietly on both sides of me.

"No, she said that New Reno had more people then any other city, I specifically remember it!" said Morreno to Johnson.

"Are you kidding me? That's ridiculous, there's no way she said that! Clean out your ears you moronic fuck!" shouted Johnson back to him.

"Enough you two, shut up or I'll kick both your asses out of this Vertibird while it is still airborne." I said, finally deciding to end they're bickering.

"Yes sir…" said Johnson crossing his arms.

The Vertibird shook violently, almost making me fall out of my chair.

"Woah! What was that Daisy?" shouted Gannon.

"I don't know! I'm losing control of the Bird, I think one of our rotors is jammed!" she screamed, desperately hitting buttons and tugging on the steering wheel.

"Well get control!" yelled Johnson, his voice cracking from fear.

The Vertibird was vibrating violently and I held on as tight as I could, using the extra strength of my power armor.

"Hold on boys, were going down!" screamed Daisy.

"Shit!" said Morreno, in his always calm tone of voice.

"Sir, if we die today, I just wan-"

"Shut up Johnson, you are not dying today now shut up and hold on!" I said, cutting him off.

He grabbed a hook extending from the roof of the Vertibird and clenched it tight.

I closed my eyes as the Vertibird slammed into the earth, throwing me forward and into a world of darkness.
