Paper hearts
I do not own The Vampire Diaries in any way.
A/N-This came to me while watching White Collar. In the episode, he hands his friend Alex a paper flower. I thought this was a really cute idea, but it didn't fit with any of the fandoms I write for. Then I decided to try and catch up with Vampire Diaries. And here it is.
Stefan sat in a graveyard staring at a gravestone.
"Julie 'Jewels' Smith. Beloved daughter, friend, and sister", it said.
Stefan had lost Katherine and Elena.
So he went back to the place where he met his best friend and lover.
It started raining, ruining the paper flowers he had placed on the grave.
*flashback*
Julie walked into the classroom to find a paper flower sitting on her desk. She picked it up.
It was a white rose.
She smiled. 'Stefan', she thought.
Later, she met him outside for lunch. "Thank you", she said.
"Anything for you", he said.
She leaned in and kissed him.
Stefan didn't have to try and control himself around her, because he didn't crave her blood.
"How'd you learn to do it?" she asked.
"Japan", he told her.
"What was it like?" she asked.
He spent the rest of the time telling her about it.
*Present day*
Apparently Stefan had completely forgetting that he had met her such a long time ago.
He came searching for her only to find out she'd died.
At age 17.
She was 15 when he met her.
Stefan sat in the rain and cried.
"You're so pathetic", Damon's voice said.
"I loved her", he said.
"Oh, like you loved Katherine and Elena?" Damon asked.
"It was different", he said.
"She's not dead", Damon said.
"What?" Stefan asked.
"She was dying so I turned her", Damon told his little brother. Damon took out his phone, dialed a number, and handed it to Stefan.
"Hey Damon!" her peppy voice said.
Stefan was silent. She gasped, "Stefan? Stefan, is that you?" She sounded just Elena when she said it that way. She suddenly appeared in front of him. "Stefan", she said.
All Stefan could do was look up at her with tears in his eyes.
"Stefan", she said hugging him.
He breathed in her calming scent.
She pulled something out of her pocket. She handed it to Stefan.
In his palm sat a small paper flower.
"I haven't perfected it and it'll probably never be as good as yours", she said.
Stefan just chuckled and kissed her.
