He was sitting on the couch in front of the fire place, when Elena came in " I'm sorry " She said, he looked at her and she can see the pain in his eyes " why are you apologizing ?" She looked down to the floor and said " I hurt you a lot, and I'm sorry " he took her hand and made her sit on his lap , he took a strand of her hair and put it behind her ear and caressed her cheek, looking at her with so much emotions, he lend in and whispered in her ear " I'm sorry too " She rested her head on his shoulder, they stayed like this for minutes or maybe hours they don't know, all they knew that they need comfort, " I was wrong " Elena broke their embrace, and looked at his eyes and lost herself in the blue ocean, " what ? " Damon said, " when I said I never un-fell for Stefan and chose him over you I was so wrong " , " don't do this Elena if you're going back to him, I can't do this, don't give me a hope that I will finally have you for myself , Elena please don't do this to me " she hated herself after what he said ! did she do this to him ? broke him into many pieces ? " I've never been so sure about anything this much Damon, don't you trust me ? " she looked at him with confident in her eyes " I do I really do its just … " " then try me " she cut him off then completed " let us try and I'm sure we will work it " she smiled at him sweetly and he returned it and said " ok beautiful I'm in " Her smile reached her ears " there's one more thing " " what ? " he started to panic and thought that she will change her mind " don't worry I'm not backing down " like she can read his mind, " then what is it ? " she whispered in his ear " I love you " .
