HEEYY! Yay, so here's another shorty-short! Tonight's episode was "Iron Man 2099" so I thought about it and decided to do one on this episode. There was a lot of emotion and questions to delve into, and this one's going to really try and showcase that. Actually, this episode was part of my inspiration for my side project and Avengers: EMH! fanfiction, Avenger: Generations. Don't you just love how inspiration works! Any who, let's do this!

I don't own anything here. (Because between you and me...I'm broke!)

"THE FUTURE"

The future is such an unpredictable place. Only to be set in stone by the choices we make every day. The things we do, the things we say, and the way we react.

Tony pondered on these things as he sat alone in his armory late at night. After the fight with his so-called "Grandson" from the future, it'd been one of those mind blowing kind of days. He tried to distract himself with Armor upgrades, but nothing could distract him anymore than he already was. Tony wasn't sure what shocked him more, the fact that he had a grandson, or that someone could even travel through time. The latter idea made his mind throb from thinking about the level of genius it would take to accomplish a thing. He was utterly baffled.

But the more he pondered on it, the more the thought accrued to him that maybe such things were possible, in time. Plus, these things were supposedly to have been created by him? Tony Stark: Inventor of Time Travel! Andros told him that. Andros. Tony's own grandson. How did that happen?! Surely Andros would've known coming to the past could jeopardize his future?

Tony began to get a little anxious at the thought. Was he married in the future? And to whom? Who on earth would be crazy enough to be involved with him? He began to think back on Andros's physical attributes. He had reddish-brown hair, bright green eyes, and the way he looked just like Tony. Weird.

But if he was Tony's grandson, then the question of who his children were came to him. How many did he have? What were they like? Were they geniuses like him? Were they going to carry on his legacy as Iron Man? These questions made his headache return. His headache forced him to realize it was extremely late, so he picked himself up and went home. Once he was home and settled into his bed, he attempted to sleep. But the constant questions plagued him for the rest of the night. So, instead of fighting them, he indulged his curious side a little longer, continuing where he left off. His kids.

Wow, a family? That's not what I expected for my future at all, he thought to himself. I always thought more of the free, do-my-own-thing sort of bachelor life was for me. But I am the master of my future…right? Tony started to get lost in that thought. A family, a wife. It wouldn't be all bad, would it? But who on earth would marry him and not go crazy from all the stress of being Iron Man's wife? That is, if even was still Iron Man in the future? He turned to lay on his side, and thought about the girls he knew. Tony thought over each one carefully, but only one stood out to him as being strong enough for that life style.

Pepper. She knows how to deal with anything and everything team Iron Man. Plus she's undoubtedly one of the smartest and spunkiest girls he knows. Not to mention, beautiful. And she knows how to handle herself. If I remember right, Tony thought, Andros had green eyes that bared a striking resemblance to hers. Her incredible, green eyes. Tony stopped himself and raised a brow at his own thoughts. Ok, Stark, that's enough.

And then the question of his company and the armor stirred in his mind. There were so many questions about the future. Tony could be awake all night theorizing about what tomorrow holds. But that's a tomorrow project, Tony told himself. So, he finally let the pestering, unanswered questions go for the night.

The future is such an unpredictable place. Only to be set in stone by the choices we make every day. The things we do, the things we say, and the way we react.

So? R&R.
