I Wonder
He sat by a viewport most times and watched her shuttle detach and leave. He knew he probably shouldn't, but he did anyway. He could stop himself. Of course he could. He just didn't.
Most of the time that she was gone and he wasn't on a job himself but on Serenity, he sat in a room alone, apart from everyone else. He secluded himself so he could let his mind wander and wonder freely.
He wondered a lot of times who they were. Who she was "dealing" with on these "business meetings." And sometimes he wondered who she was kissing on those nights. Who they were, how rich, how charming. How well they treated her.
Of course he wasn't jealous of them. No, never. Not at all. Never. But sometimes he wondered. But they were all natural, disinterested speculations. Of course none of them meant anything. He just wondered. He just couldn't help but wonder.
