Title: Relax
Author: Roque
Rating: K
Pairing: Jack/Sam - duh.
Disclaimer: Not mine. The usual.
Summary: This was not her idea of a relaxing visit home.
Author's notes: This is kind of based on personal experiences. I share a room with my sister, and she's had a bad cold... yeah. LOTS of sleepless nights for me.
But anyway. I have some exciting news! For me... anyways... I'm moving! My friend and I are moving to Toronto in 2 weeks time. So I've been really busy getting packed - what packing?! Pfft - and organised for the trip. My apologies for not updating anything. I am still writing though, and I have a few little ficlets to share. I just need to edit them.
Relax
Sam crossed her arms over her chest. She was annoyed. This, she glared at the sleeping man next to her, was not her idea of a relaxing visit home.
He had made it sound wonderful. He had promised to take his much missed wife out for a fancy dinner and the movie of her choice.
She had decided on the new Italian place near their DC home. She could still taste the herbs on her lips. Her mouth watered at the thought of going back there.
They went home after that, she had decided that she would rather go home to watch a film than be surrounded by people.
They shared a bottle of wine as they watched a film on TV that neither cared much about. Just being wrapped in his arms was enough.
It felt good to be wrapped in his arms, his hands trailing up and down her thighs and arms as they watched the movie. His lips kissed her forehead tenderly before she tilted her head back from where it lay on his chest so he could kiss her lips.
They had made love for the first time in far too long. He made her feel loved, needed, wanted as he worshiped her.
For the first time in what seemed like forever, she felt as though she would sleep peacefully through the night snuggled deeply in her husbands arms.
The evening had been wonderful. Just like he promised it would be.
Then he had started to snore. Loudly. Right in her ear.
She pushed him. He moved away from her without waking up and the room went silent.
Sam smiled. She snuggled down and closed her eyes. She was just on the edge of sleep when he started to snore again. Just as loud as before.
She couldn't take it. She was exhausted. Mentally and physically. She grabbed her pillow and started to get out of bed. She would sleep in the spare room.
An arm went around her waist as one of her feet hit the floor.
"Where ya goin?" he mummbled into the mattress.
"To the spare room," she sighed sleepily.
"Why?" he asked as he raised his head to look at her.
"Because I can't take your snoring anymore," she said as she placed her other foot on the floor.
"I don't snore," he protested as he pulled her back.
"Yes," she said as her head connected with his chest. "You do. Loudly."
"Lies," he said softly as he ran a hand through her hair and bent down to kiss her head.
"Jack," she sighed. "I'm tired. I need to sleep. You've been snoring."
"Please stay here," he begged. "I promise to try not to snore."
"If you snore again, I'm going to the spare room."
"Deal," he relented.
Sam pulled her legs back into bed and snuggled up against his chest. Her eyes were heavy and she instantly fell asleep to the beating of his heart and his shallow breathing hitting her hair.
Jack smiled as she fell into a deep sleep against his chest.
He hated when he had to sleep alone.
