A.N. this is after the ring was destroyed except as you can tell some characters are not dead and there are orks running around causing mayhem. R&R please :D
I could feel the grass under my feet, still wet with dew. As I closed my blue eyes as I let myself listen to the trees sway of the Mirkwood forest. I stayed in this position for a minute or two basking in the sunlight of the wood. I looked up at the target 30 feet away and let out a long breath readying myself. I lift my arms with my bow, bracing the arrow. I knew I wouldn't miss but there was a first for everything. I cast the arrow and I hit it right in the centre of the bull's eye. A smirk plays on my face. Legolas isn't going to be happy that I'm better than him. We will have to have a competition when he gets back.
I feel the wind change slightly and I hear horses in the distance. My heart skips a beat. Their back! I race through the trees with my bare feet, making no noise and blending in. I would make the perfect Marchwarden. I would be faster but mother is insistent that I wear a dress instead of pants. I couldn't feel so free running in between the trees bow in one hand and my quiver on my back full with my elven made arrows. I come to a stop just before the road that goes on to Mirkwood and climb a good shaded tree to keep me hidden. Smirking to myself as I drew an arrow and lined it up on my bow, leaning the end on my cheek. And now I wait for my prey.
They didn't take long and their horses are at a slow pace which takes the excitement out of it. I quickly assess my kill, coming up with my game plan. Three riders but Legolas would already be up for the challenge before I can shoot any of the others. The second rider was very distinctly King Aragorn but the third I could not see with his brown cloak, shading his face. I make my decision. Breathe, breath, and now. I felt the feathers of the arrow fly off my face as I shot my first one. People always think Legolas and I are twins because we are so alike in looks with our eye colour and long blonde hair. We also alike with the fact that we cannot part out bows for very long. The only thing that sets us apart is our height. He is taller than me by a foot. And he is older than me by a century, which you can tell because he is always telling me off for my stunts. We haven't seen each other in a very long time because he went to help destroy the ring and well now he's back, both of us changed.
I attach him to the closest tree causing an alarming look to come across him face causing me to giggle from my hiding spot. He rips himself free grabs his bow quickly and shoots at me in the shrub. I have just enough time to jump off the tree and dodge his blow. I approach the group from my cover.
"Legolas" I shout as I run to him. He bear hugs me.
"Alvina, oh how I have missed you. You have grown. Let me introduce you to my friends. This is King Aragorn" I do a little mock curtsy because I still have not forgiven him for taking Legolas away from me for the stupid ring. At this Legolas hits me.
"Alvina, I should have known you would have pulled something like this off" as Aragorn try's to calm his horse. Typical men can't even control their animals I think as I roll my eyes.
"And this is Haldir, but you should already know who he is considering the relationship you have with him" but I ignore him because Haldir has taken off his hood and is looking at me with those baby blue eyes and smirk that I know all too well.
