Nightly Romance

A few weeks after Victor's defeat, Sid and Carrie had been spending most of their time together. It was nightfall and the sloth couple was walking through the woods enjoying their romantic night.

"So Carrie, how are you enjoying your time with the herd?" Sid asked her.

"It's fine and safe now that Victor is gone." Carrie said feeling a little nervous.

"Are you OK?" He asked getting concerned about her.

"I just hate that monster! He deserved it for killing my family!" She angrily retorted.

"Calm down, Carrietta. You don't have to worry about him anymore." He said calming her down.

"OK Sid and stop calling me that name." She said frowning at him.

"OK Carrietta." He called her again and Carrie tackled him onto the ground.

"I told you to calling me that." She said while smiling deviously.

"Yeah, yeah… May you please get off me now?" He asked gently.

"Anything for my hubby." She replied as she got off of the downed sloth.

"Y-You mean want to…" He was speechless at what she said.

"Yes Sid, I you want to be my husband." She said pleading him.

"I will… Carrie I, Sid the sloth, would be honored to have you as my mate." He said as he kneels down on one knee and held Carrie's hand in both of his.

"S-Sid… y-you mean it?" She said as she starts to cry.

"Til death do us apart, my love." He replied as he stands back up.

"Oh, thank you Sid! You've made me the happiest sloth in the whole herd!" She shouted as she hugs him.

"Yes, I did and now, let's get back to herd. I don't want them to start getting worried and look for us." He said as he wipes her tears away.

"Oh right, we've been away longer than we thought. Let's go home dearie." She said as she holds his hand.

"Yeah, let's go." He replied back as he walks with her.

The sloth couple walks back to the valley to meet with their friends. They spotted them sleeping already and Sid decided they should sleep in his cave. When they reached the cave, Carrie was surprised at his home.

"Wow, there's a lot of open space in here!" Carrie commented.

"Well, there's nothing much in here except these eggshells here." Sid said as he put the eggshells in a neat pile.

"You used to have young animals in here?" She asked him.

"Well, yeah… They were baby dinosaurs I found under the ice in eggs, so I took them home and nurtured them for a day as a mother. Until, their real mother showed up causing havoc and took her kids and me underground where my friends are trying to save me." He explained to her.

"Really? Because I did hear that you tried to raise them on your own." She smirked at him.

"OK then, I'll tell you what happened a few years ago." He sat down and starts telling the story.

Sid told Carrie what happened a few years ago and she was impressed to hear his tale.

"So you got kidnapped by the babies' mother, your friends tried to save you from your captor who then feels sympathy for you, you argued with the mother to see who's the better mother, got attacked by an albino dinosaur and the mother saved you by knocking the mean dinosaur off the cliff and she leaves you to be back with everyone else, right?" Carrie explained the details from Sid's tale.

"Yep, all of that is true and I still miss her and the kids." Sid said sadly.

"Well, I can't wait to see them someday." Carrie said.

"Yeah… *yawns* Right now, I'm just tired." He yawned and lies down.

"*yawns* I'm tired also so let's get to bed." She said as she lies down beside him.

"Yeah, Oh Carrie?" He said.

"Yes?" She responded.

"I love you." He replied before drifting off to sleep.

"I love you too." She replied back as she drifts off to sleep.
