Chapter 1 Remember

Disclaimer: I do not own Full Metal Alchemist or any of that…sadly…I would love to, but oh well! Sue me, and all I have is a dollar and week old, dried up cereal!

A.N.: Italicized words mean thought.

I stand there watching them from afar. Edward and Alphonse Elric, the two brothers in search of the philosophers' stone. I had been watching them for a long while, years even.

"Wow…look at them" I thought to myself, "If only they knew…" I quickly turn to behind the tree I had been standing on.

"Did you hear that, Al?" The blonde boy, the Fullmetal Alchemist, inquired of his brother. Only 15 and alone to care for Al, with a few people to help him on his journey.

"I heard something…but…I'm not sure what…" stated the big, metal suit of armor, Alphonse. A year younger than his blonde brother, the whole reason the two are even looking for the legendary stone. A promise that was made to him by Edward; to return him to his original state, his true form.

"Hmmmm…" Edward thought to himself, as he straightened his jacket that was falling off his shoulders, slightly revealing his auto-mail arm. Losing his right arm to the gate…his sacrifice to keep his brothers' soul, and his left leg…their punishment for breaking the alchemic law of equivalent exchange…bringing their mother back, which failed.

Flashback

"That oughta do it. You ready?"

"Mmmhhmmm…"

"Don't be scared, Al. Everything's perfect."

The rain starts to fall outside.

"Lets go for it!"

"Uh Huh!"

The two boys, Alphonse only 9, and Edward, 10, put their hands on the elaborate transmutation circle. The circles glows yellow, winds and light rises upward from the chalk-drawn circle. Lightning flows to the contents in the center. The children smiled. Then, something went wrong…The light turns red and violet.

End Flashback

"Hmmm…just be alert, Ok Al?"

"Ok, brother."

I move from behind the tree, slightly, as the boys continue to walk by.

"Damnit…" I whispered to myself, "how can I be so stupid! Almost revealing myself…"

I jump from my limb of the tree, but as I put my weight on the next one, it breaks, sending me crashing to the ground. Ed and Al turn around to see me, a blonde-haired woman, brushing leaves off her body.

"Owww…" I look up and see Ed and Al, almost standing over me, surprised "Ermmm…hi? Heh heh…"

I sit on the ground, covered in leaves. Ed and Al stare at me, slightly in shock, but highly amused by the fact I fell. I stand up, brush the leaves off, and turn to look at Ed and Al.

"Wow, Ed. She looks like mom...if mom...was a...blonde?" Al whispered in Ed's ear.

"Yeah...her face is so identical...but...mom's dead...it can't be her...she can't."

I walk towards them.

"Edward...Alphonse..."

I hug them, the way a lover or mother would after seeing them for the first time in years. Ed pushes out of my grasp.

"Who the hell are you?" Alphonse follows, as I loosen my grip after Eds' comment.

"Well...I..." I step backwards. I had never thought of how to tell them...I didn't think I would for atleast another couple years! I finally stutter out the only words I could..."I'm sorry!" I clap my hands together, but so it looks like an 'X' and touches the ground. The ground rises around me like a tunnel. Ed hit the wall of dirt with his automail arm, revealing nothing or noone inside.

"She...she vanished!" Al said with a 'WTF' look. "Hmmm...and she never told us her name or anything either!"

"Yeah, Al..." Edward had the 'WTF' look on his face, as well, bewildered of who she is.

Meanwhile

"That...that..." I said between gasps for air..."that was too close!" I collapse to the ground.
