As we change for our
first match,
I glance at her from
across the tent.
She's starring back,
With much content.
My heart beats just a
little faster,
Can anyone else hear
this?
My thoughts of love,
And a hopeful kiss.
It is time now for the
match.
As I grow nervous and
anxious,
She is calm,
Totally unconscious.
Of the way I feel
towards her,
How I want to hold her
in my arms,
Everything right,
Nothing to harm.
Out on the field we
stand ready,
The whistle blows and
we're in the air,
Spreading out,
With care.
She scores once, and
then again,
Katie is forever my
girl,
A shot on me,
Around I wirl.
I almost let the ball
in the hoop,
How detrimental that
would be,
For my dear Katie,
To have to see.
"Nice save Wood!"
she yells to me.
A rush of joy
overwhelms me,
She likes me.
She likes me.
