"Found it," said on of the whitecoats from across the room.

Jeb looked up.

"You really did find it right. This isn't just a joke."

He wanted to run around the room jumping up and down. This discovery will change the world. He Grabbed the DNA sample in his hand. A smile formed across his lips.

"Was the egg returned before anyone noticed," he asked.

"Of course not. What if we want to make more," wasn't the response he wanted to hear.

"Return it where you found it! Are you mad? Do you want the freaking FBI at our case?!"

"Yes sir!" The attendant ran out of the room.

Jeb roamed the halls of The School practically itching to fuse the DNA with a human child. If only he could run this place. It would be so much better if the mutants were comfortable and not cramped in dog crates. It sickened him. He wanted the world to be a better place. To bad his opinion wouldn't change a thing.

He sighed. But at least he had the samples. That should be the only thing on his mind right now.

" Maximum," the word rolled off his tongue. He liked that name.

He set the DNA sample on the table. A baby was sitting on the table before him.

"I'll call you maximum," he said with a sheepish smile.

The baby seemed to stare at him with amazement.

"It's okay Max," he said calmly. "You will save the world someday. I just know it. But what will I do with your sister?"

He looked over at another table where another baby was giving him the death stare. He sighed again gripping the bottle of newly found DNA in his hand. He prayed to himself and gave the bottle to another scientist.

"Which one sir. The one on the left. Not Max but that other one."

"Yes sir"

If only he had waited to alter Max. She could have done more than save the world. But he still believed in her, and didn't want anything else.

He looked at the other newborn. He hoped nothing would go wrong. This was the first alteration with a fossil. He smiled. At least he would have Max.
