Blue Eyes

A/N: This is just a one shot I wrote. I absolutely love this crossover pairing; an Angel and a Witch - what's not to love :)

Summary: Hermione Granger has been blessed with a guardian angel. But being the independent girl she is, she is merely aggravated than impressed with his presence. And to make matters worse only she can see him.

Although she tried to ignore him she always notices him watching from afar, never intending to approach her.

When she was in the library he would glance idly at the books, but his interest never strayed from her. One day when she was re-reading Hogwarts: A History, she heard his footsteps pacing back and forth up and down the aisles. Suddenly she threw the book down angrily on the table and glared up at him,

'Okay Castiel, enough is enough. Don't you ever take a break?' She hissed furiously. His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked down at her, 'Because you following me around every day is slowly driving me insane,' he continued to stare at her, Hermione could feel the aggravation building up inside her, she had been polite but now he was getting on her last nerve, 'I am no-where near popular in this school, but when people see me whispering to myself they instantly assume I am crazy! Even Ron and Harry are-'

'Shhh!' said a voice behind them. Hermione could see Madam Pince peering through the bookshelves at her. Hermione gave her an apologetic smile and re-opened her book, pretending to read until Madam Pince dissolved back into the books.

As she looked back up again she jumped slightly to see Castiel sitting across the table from her. She shook her head and tried to immerse herself back into her book.

'I apologize.' He said quietly, 'I did not know I caused you so much distress.'

Hermione took a quick glance at him and instantly regretted it. His azure eyes were wide and innocent, as he stared intently at her from across the table. He leaned forwards and pursed his lips slightly. 'If you wish, I will leave you alone.'

'No,' She retorted quickly. Strands of his brown hair fell into his eyes; he brushed them back into place and furrowed his eyebrows.

'You are a confusing witch,' he said finally, tilting his head to one side. Hermione sighed, closed the book and pushed it back into it's shelf, before stalking out of the library, Castiel following in her wake. She could not admit it to herself - she would not. Castiel was perfect; he was handsome and intelligent, yet mysterious and confused. He knew so much about the past, but nothing about the present. Hermione shook herself mentally, he was at least double her age, maybe more. But as she climbed the staircase to the Gryffindor tower, she realised he was no longer with her. She briefly scanned the floors below but he was nowhere to be seen. Suddenly she felt unusually lonely and unprotected, so she ran up the last few steps to the common room. Panting the password to the Fat Lady and diving into the common room to join Harry and Ron.
