AN: Takes place during the Yoko Factor (BtVS) when Angel and Buffy leave her dorm room to talk in the hallway.
Buffy turned around and crossed her arms over her chest as Angel moved out of her dorm room where Riley stood still. Once the door was shut, Angel nodded a little and took a step towards Buffy. "So, that's him?"
Buffy nodded "Yep."
"He good to you?"
The Slayer moved off the wall "Can we not do this?"
"I'm sorry, I just need to know you're happy."
Buffy looked at the vampire with a look of confusion on her face. "You want me to be happy, just not with someone else."
"No."
"No what?"
"I want you to be with someone." Angel stated, looking to the floor.
"I didn't get that vibe."
Angel looked back up. "Well when the guy you picked starts trying to kick my ass…"
"So you think I didn't pick the right guy."
"I never said that." Angel retorted.
Buffy shook her head "I don't understand you Angel. You're upset when I'm with you and upset when I'm not. What do you want?"
"You."
After a short pause, Buffy lowered her shoulders and she shook her head. "I can't do this." She started to move back to her room, but Angel caught her arm and spun her around.
"You wanted an answer…I'm not going to lie to you." He told her. "Every day…every day I ask myself what I did to deserve this."
"You walked away from me. That's what you did!" Buffy snapped. She then calmed down and looked towards the floor. "Please…don't."
"Don't? Don't what Buffy? Tell you that I love you?" Angel grabbed her other shoulder "Look at me…"
Buffy looked up in to Angel's eyes, her own beginning to water.
"Tell me this was a good thing. Tell me you don't love me and that you really love that…that Riley guy like you say you do. Tell me I'm dwelling on the past and need to move on."
The Slayer shook her head "Please just go."
"I need to hear you say it." Angel told her. "I need to hear you tell me I'm stupid for still loving you and thinking that I might have a chance later."
Buffy pulled out of Angel's grip. "That's what you want to hear? You want me to lie to you?" she asked, a tear now rolling down her cheek. "You're the only thing I can think of at night and it kills me that you're not here. Happy now?"
Angel shook his head "Not even close."
He leaned down to kiss the Slayer, but she took a step back and looked down "I can't do that to him."
Angel took a step back "I know, I'm sorry." He looked at Buffy "I'll go."
The vampire slowly turned, then walked down the hall.
Buffy watched him leave, then once Angel was out of sight, she fought back more tears and held her hands over her face.
Angel kicked the main doors to the building open and they flung open, one coming off the hinge. He walked out of the building and to his car without looking back once.
