John was walking through the corridors of Atlantis when he heard a sound coming from the gym.
Curious, John walked over to the gym and stood at the doorway watching as Elizabeth beat the shit out of a punch bag.
Her form and the firmness of her punches impressed John.

He continued watching her for a few minutes in awe, realising he'd never seen this side of Elizabeth.
He continued to watch and was shocked when he saw Elizabeth lean against the bag and begin to cry.

John was in two minds whether to leave and let her get it out of her system, but he couldn't leave her there like that.
Slowly he walked over to her, placing his hands on her shoulders. She turned round and when she saw him, she quickly pushed away her tears and walked over to the stain glass window, her back towards him.

"What can I do for you Major?"

John could hear the tears cracking her voice as she tried to stay on top.

"Elizabeth are you okay?"

Elizabeth nodded, her back still towards him

"Of course"

John shook his head and walked over to her. He brushed his hands down her bare arms and sighed. He then spun her around slowly and used his thumbs to brush away the tears that remained on her cheeks.

Elizabeth lowered her head, as if ashamed that she was allowing herself to show emotion. John quickly lifted her head with his hand and made her face him.

"Don't lie to me"

He then pulled her into his arms and held her so gently that Elizabeth thought it would break her heart. She rested her head on his chest and sighed.

John gently placed a kiss on her head; he then pulled away from her and took of the boxing gloves. As he suspected her hands were badly bruised and bleeding because of the force at which she was hitting the punch bag earlier.

He used his hand to gently trace across her wounds trying hard not to hurt her in the process.

He looked up at her and for a moment their eyes locked, their hearts and emotions were exposed.

Elizabeth pulled her hand away from his and picked up her stuff.

"I am fine Major"

She brushed past him and quickly left the gym.
