This story was inspired by similarity between H.M. Murdock's and Shinji Ikari's childhood.

I don't own characters.

Murdock fell asleep quickly; he was exhausted after hard mission and long flight from southern Europe.

He saw blue-haired girl with red, cold eyes, wearing strange, thight white-blue suit. She could be 14, maybe 15 years old.

'Who are you?' asked pilot.

'It doesn't matter. I'm here to lead you to some place.' she replied with voice as cold as her gaze.

'Oh, and why you're so confident I wanna go?'

No answer.

With blink of an eye scenery changed. He was now in cockpit of strange, huge machine. Captain has never seen anything like this before. He stared at his body and saw, that he was wearing similar suit as girl he met earlier. Only difference was colour – his one was light brown, like his favourite jacket.

Suddenly Murdock realized, that cockpit was filled with some kind of liquid, and he frightened. But surprisingly he didn't feel like he was drowning. He could breathe normally. However, pilot didn't like scent of blood in the cabin.

Then pilot heard voice; it sounded like coming from far away:

'Finally I can talk with you...I'm so happy...'

'Who are you?' asked Murdock with hesitation; he expected similar answer like in previous case.

'I'm a soul...Of this machine...But before this I was human...Someone, who you don't remember, but I know you very well. Like no oneelse. I could see all your pain and suffer you have experienced in Vietnam, your insanity and slowly, difficult recovery...And finally all those good things you've done to other people with brave and open heart...True love you feel to your friends. I'm proud of you.'

Now pilot was totally confused. He didn't know what to say, however he didn't feel endangered, even some warmth filled his heart.

'My beloved son...'

'Mom?! Mom, is it really you?!' he asked with trembling voice. His heart was pounding.

'Yes...Always remember that I try to protect you as much as I can from this world.'

'Mom...I love you, I miss you whole my life...' he sobbed

'I know dear, I know...'

'Can I stay with you? I'll do anything is necessary.'

'It's impossible. Your friends need you. Besides, you still have AT field.'

'Have what? But...'

'There's no buts, son. You're not kind of man who makes other suffer. I'm in your heart and that counts. I love you.

Murdock awoke. He had tears in his eyes; there was so many things he wanted to ask his mother, even it was just a strange dream...But in some weird way he also felt good.
