Damen POV
"Ever!" I yell.
"What," she grumbles in return.
"I- I have something very, very important to tell you.
"Shoot".
"You know how I said that you were female in all of your past lives?" She nods with a weird expression on her face.
"Well, you have to promise not to freak out. I lied."
"WHAT!"
"Hey," I say. "You promised.
"I'm sorry; continue."
"It was only once and we still didn't go all the way. But, you were a guy, I could tell it was your soul and honestly, you were hot!"
Ever shudders wildly. "You were a homo?"
"For about four months of time, yes, I was."
"And then…?" She presses.
"You left me. You never died; you simply left me. I figured it was only meant to be considering you were male and homosexuals were highly disapproved of that you were scared. And then, you were crucified almost three years later. I wept and I grieved and then Drina came back. It was a different life though; instead of dying on the night we planned to reach 'step three', you just went and left."
"I was probably changed back into a straight then. Maybe, Drina decided to see how far you would go just to be with me. Was this in any way close to Evaline's time?"
"It was right around the time she died." I shudder, recapping the first of many horrible memories.
"Whatever," Ever shrugs and leans in closer to me.
I kiss her very passionately and then I pull back.
"I love you, just the way you are." I say, truthfully.
"Clearly," she laughs. "I love you, too, Damen."
I'm aware that this story is depressingly short but it's supposed to be.
