"Rose I'm bored." The Doctor sighed, picking up a random tin of beans and then setting it back down.
"As you keep telling me" Rose replied, pushing the shopping trolley around the corner to the next aisle.
"Well I am!" He retorted, looking down at his converse clad feet. The 2 year-old girl in the seat of the trolley Rose was pushing looked up at her as if to say 'will you shut him up'.
"I'm sorry Doctor, but since the bananas I picked up for you last time weren't up to your impeccable standards the only option was for you to come and get them yourself." Rose said, rolling her eyes.
The Doctor mumbled incoherently under his breath.
"What was that?" Rose asked, picking up a multi-pack of beans and putting them in the trolley.
"Nothing…" The Doctor mumbled, slightly louder than previously so Rose could understand him.
"Is your Daddy being a child?" Rose asked the little girl in the trolley, who gave a giggle. "Why do you talk to her like that?"
"Like what?"
"Like…That. With that tone of voice that seems to be reserved for small children and animals."
"You…stop the cheek and do something useful. I know, go find some sweets for our picnic tomorrow."
"What kind of sweets?" The Doctor asked suspiciously.
"Any you want." Rose replied, looking him in the eye to show she was being serious.
The Doctor grinned and ran around the corner.
"Problem solved." Rose triumphantly murmured as she continued with her shopping.
