Eren POV

My knees and back ache as I hold this arched position on the bedroom floor. My arms ache from the constant rubbing back and forth, all to please the insatiable corporal Levi. Damn these floors will never be clean! All I seem to be doing lately is scrubbing floors or polishing windows. I've been a member of the survey corps for well over three months now, and I have yet to see any real titan-killing action.

I abandon the floor work and start over to dust the bookshelf. So much dust has settled on it over time. Levi would surely kick my ass if he returned and saw furniture in this state. I grab a damp rag and set to work. It's not long before yet again I am distracted by the thought of Levi. Absentmindedly I trace a heart shape in the dust. Inside it I begin to write 'E +', when suddenly the door slams open and Levi himself bursts in, arms folded across his chest. "Jaeger! I thought I had made myself perfectly clear. You were to have this room spotless by the time I returned."

"But sir, I've been cleaning for hours," I complain. "I've swept, mopped, dusted and polished practically everything. It's pretty much as clean as it's going to get." The corporal has such high standards, and his obsession with cleaning is unparalleled.

Levi paced over to the bookshelf I had been tidying and ran a gloved finger through the dust. Seeing the look of disgust on his face was almost unbearable. "Corporal I was just…" I began, looking ashamedly at my feet.

"This room is still filthy. Do it again," Levi ordered. "When you're finished report to me immediately and you may join the rest of the squad for dinner."

"Yes sir," I affirmed, and set to re-sweeping the floor with a newly acquired determination.

"Very good," Levi said, and with that he turned and strode out the door. I couldn't help but stare and admire him as he did so. This man is humanity's strongest soldier. I love and respect him with all of my heart, even if my feelings go unnoticed and aren't reciprocated.

I let out a sigh and go over to finish dusting the bookshelf, and notice the heart I had traced moments earlier. To my surprise, written in the heart was 'E + L', though I clearly remember leaving it unfinished. Realising what must have happened, I smile as I finish cleaning the bookshelf, leaving only that one spot untouched, and head outside to join the corporal and the others. Perhaps my feelings weren't so one-sided as I had previously thought.

I hope you enjoyed my first Eren x Levi fan fiction :D
