Lucy is insecure.

Is it a hot, sweaty summer day and Natsu aches to set aflame this tree they sit beneath. For it was a hot, sweaty summer day and Natsu wanted to feel the burn. Natsu also aches for Lucy's smile, which he'd not seen in what seemed like a week.

It is a nice day out and a week prior to i.

"Lushi, you look like a donkey! when you smile." Happy snickered, back turned to a fighting Natsu and Cana.

Lucy offered half a smile and decided that this tree they sat beneath needed a little more loving.

("No, wait. And you laugh like a pig!")

Lucy then decided that maybe it was she who needed a little more loving.

Lucy is insecure-

and in need of a female companion.

She walks towards the bar, gloomy air clung tighter to her than the clothes she never wore. And Mirajane strikes ups conversation.

"What can I get for you, Lucy?"

Or maybe not.

("Am I ugly?" "Does my shriek ring like a wretched witches?")

She asks but never did, because she would never dare provoke the answer she never received.

"A strawberry milkshake, please."

Lucy is under the same tree as before with Erza-

and her dad shows up. Business suit and all.

"Hello, Lucy. Have you gained some weight?"

Erza doesn't sip her tea.

("Erza, am I fat?")

she never asked 5 minutes ago.

Lucy wants to cry.

She is at Erza's home, with her head on her lap. And Erza tells her it's okay to spill her heart at this moment.

"I am your friend, no?"

("I cry like a diseased siren.")

Lucy might have said.

And then she cries,

and cries,

and cries.

Lucy does not think she will ever stop crying.
