How much he loved her.
Tell her, Jacob. She had the right to know.
He wanted to protect her at all costs. That was why they were in their current situation, after all.
Jacob wasn't a coward. He faced a good amount of dangerous creatures in his life. But none had Fox eyes.
He hated when he hurt her. In those cases, she rarely said a word but her eyes... They were more eloquent than any phrases she could have uttered.
She was brushing her clothes with her thin fin fingers. They slept in a grange once again.
They were looking for Will. Jacob just can't abandon him. He was his responsability.
His little brother. When they were kids, Jacob hated the fact that he had to look after Will because he was the eldest.
Will should have stay home with Clara. He wasn't fit for this world. No. This world was Jacob's.
Where was he now ? Nerron wasn't good company.
Fox must have seen the concern in his face because she touched his arm lightly.
"We'll find him, Jacob. And we'll bring him home." she asserted with kindness.
He nodded before picking up his own effects.
Fox was ready to change her form once again when he stopped her.
Her child. She needs to know. You just can't hide that from her.
She looked at him, startled.
"Something's wrong ?"
She didn't like when Jacob looked afraid. It was bad omens.
He looked at the vixen.
"No. Let's go. We should make it to the next town before the night and sleep in a bed tonight."
He smiled at her, hoping she didn't see something was amiss.
She just smiled back, but tightly enough for him to know she wasn't fooled. She decidely knew him too well.
He had to tell her. But today was a sunny day, and they had a long trip before them.
He'll tell her tomorrow. Or whenever the guilt to keep the deal from her would be too much.
