A/N: Yeah you get it by now. Naruto belongs to its creator and none other. The End.

He Had Always Known

He had always dreamt of better things, a life where everyone would smile. A time when there'd be little to no fighting, a day when she'd finally look his way.

He had always surpassed all of their expectations, overlooking the simple fact that he was supposed to fail, because they believed it so. A belief that normally would destroy one's will to continue forward, but somehow only gave him the strength to try even harder, just to prove them wrong, just to win their respect, just because he knew of no other way.

He had always been reckless to help those in need, more so for these whom he loved dearly. His life meant nothing when it truly came down to it. The unconscious little thought that would eventually come true for the recently announce hokage.

He had always had a way to make everyone smile, despite his ability to out do every ignorant fool in the world. So naive, so kind, so determined.

He had always waited for her, his eyes not once changing. His life meant nothing without hers. And as he fought to that vow, his life had ended just like that. A pool of his blood encircling his limp form, his ocean blue eyes closing forever and that smile errantly etched in her memory, along with his last words, echoing in still in her mind as he had gazed into her eyes, his bleeding hands reaching for her tear stricken face.

"Yukatta, you're ok. I'm glad…if only…if only…"

It broke her heart as she stood by his grave, now truly alone in this world, her selfishness having left her this way. He had always known, always and it still mattered not to him. For she never loved him back, her heart still belonged to the boy who had never returned. He had always known and he didn't care. Even as he struggled to say good-bye, he didn't care, because he loved her enough for both of them.
