The sun was slowly setting at the manor. The sky was nearly dark with only a few sparse clouds left. With her head bent low, Hermione smiled with determination. Today, this eve, she would see Harry once again. After all the long weeks of being away from each other, they would finally be reunited. It seemed shocking to her to be standing at this precise moment. As if time didn't really exist.
She grimaced at the sound of heavy footsteps approaching the castle. She felt content but terribly frightened. What would happen to her if she did not see Harry? He was after all her soon to be husband. Her father had selected him from a handful of men to be his heir. Her dowry, her body and mind would all belong to him. Everyone presumed she was only following her father's orders but in reality she was following her own heart.
What she wanted more than anything in the world was to be with Harry. Her Harry, the man she loved and cherished and despite their pasts she forgave him for his shrewd but thoughtful behavior. Amazed by the sudden change in the room, Hermione felt lightheaded. It was no wonder why she felt like this.
Lurking in the darkness, a transparent figure stood observing her every movement. Hermione turned around to see who it was. Her jaw dropped. "My God, Harry!" Too stunned to move, Hermione remained motionless for a moment until she could take everything all in. Here was Harry, her Harry, standing right in front of her with his warm, green - eyes, sparkling in the dark.
Harry took his time staring at her, observing her beauty with his own eyes, never taking them off of her. "I just want to look at you." "Oh Harry," Hermione ran into his arms and embraced him. Harry stroked her small back. Hermione linked her arms around his neck. "I love you, I never felt like this before, so worried. Don't ever leave me again. My heart couldn't take it if something terrible happened to you."
"It's all right Hermione, I promise you nothing awful will ever happen to me. I care about you too much to ever leave you behind in this world. We're together now, let's forget about our separation and focus more on us. You smell so nice. Is that a new perfume you are wearing?
Harry kissed her forehead and then pressed his lips softly over hers. Hermione returned his kiss just as eagerly and smiled back at him in return.
"I love you." He whispered to her ear.
"Me too, me too Harry."
Hermione buried her head into his chest. She loved him so much that she swore they would never be parted again. She would do all she could to make that happen.
