I had just come out the bath, my hair like a wild woman or worse, when I realised it wasn't there.

"Twin did you buy the Coco Butter for my hair? You know my morning regiment is not complete without it honey!"

There was a beat of silence. It was all I needed.

She had forgotten.

"Girl, you know I need that stuff. This is why we write lists!" I knew I was angrier than I should be with Erin for anything. People forgot things all the time, everyday. But she was my twin, she should know me better.

I picked a fluffy rage red towel off the heated rack and covered myself as I entered our bedroom. Erin was shame faced.

Suddenly the towel was just scarlet again.

"Sorry" she said quietly "It's just you know that we are so alike that I … forget your hair needs." She blushed at her forgetfulness. She was just too cute. I sighed.

"Do you think this-" I gestured at my head as a reference to my normal sleek hair. "-just happens by accident!"

Erin's blue eyes flashed with laughter as her naturally straight hair swayed about her face. I suppose some things you learned at birth.

Like that fact that a black women's hair cost her $50 plus a month to maintain.
