"Annabeth" the boy shouted as he ran towards the truck that was slowly easing its way out of the parking lot. Inside the truck, a blonde girl lay motionless. She did not move but her grey eyes looked pleadingly at the boy running towards her. He was almost there...the girl extended her hand as the boy extended his. Their fingertips touched...they were so close...so cl- Suddenly the truck increased its speed. It had reached the freeway. The girl's fingers brushed once more against the boy's before the distance between them extended. The girl could have cried from frustration. She had almost escaped!
Even this far away, she could hear the heart shattering scream of the boy.
She closed her eyes. I love you,Percy.
