Sasuke, Sakura and all other characters in the world of Naruto were created by Kishimoto Misashi not me! They just inspire me once in a while.

A.N - Just a quick little Sasuke/Sakura drabble that popped into my head. Don't hate me hubby-sama, I thought of a Naruto/Sakura one too!

Salvation.

The first time she had saved him, Sasuke had been seconds away from a very nasty, possibly life threatening injury.

Instead, after taking care of the enemy ninja in front of him, he had turned around to witness the brute strength of Haruno Sakura, protégé of the 5th Hokage and talented Medical Ninja.

It had been the first time he had borne witness to such a display and ever since the aforementioned event, he had replayed it in his mind many a time.

Not because of the grotesque nature of seeing a man's face cave in. As a ninja himself he'd seen many disturbing things in the heat of battle.

What caused him to constantly replay the sequence of events was the unexpected power his teammate had displayed, not to mention the fact that she had been the one saving him, instead of the other way around.

For a long time he wasn't sure how he'd felt about that. Ever since the death of Orochimaru and his brother, he wasn't entirely sure how he felt about a lot of things.

Now the sole focus of his entire being up until that point had been removed, what else was there?

Thinking about it just drove him crazy, so instead he just existed.

He completed missions, he trained, he even spent time with rest of his team. Quietly consuming ramen at Ichiraku. Watching with envy how comfortable his teammates seemed in the company of each other.

But inevitably his mind would again begin to wander. And it was on one of those dark days, when all those frustrations of not knowing where he was going in life or even what he wanted in life and if he really belonged at all, she saved him again.

But this time Sasuke found it hard to think. Because he was too busy feeling the softness of her lips and right at that moment, nothing else seemed to really matter.

Owari.
