A/N: Spoiler!! If you haven't read Deathly Hallows don't read this fanfic! It will spoil the ending for you
"Tonks wait!" Harry called after the vanishing figure of Nymphadora Tonks.
She sped down the corridor toward the lights and screams of the battle far below.
"Stupefy!" Tonks screamed at the approaching Death Eater before he knew she was there. The only thought going through her head was she needed to find her husband.
She came upon a group of duelers and shot a quick stunning spell at the opponents all the while running and looking for her husband. She ran and finally reached the Grand Staircase; chunks missing from the various spells and curses. She quickly surveyed the duelers looking for some sign of Lupin. Teachers, students, Order members fighting with all they had against Death Eaters. She ran towards the grand oak doors that stood open revealing the battle field.
Green and red lights shooting left and right, Tonks ran, blowing back anyone who opposed her with any curse she could think of.
When she was finally on the grounds she could see the real mayhem of things: Bodies of students, teachers, and others of the resistance along with Death Eaters alike strewn either transfigured past recognition or dead. Taking her wet eyes away from one of her friends, she ran with every last ounce of energy out into the chaos.
"REMUS! REMUS!" Tonks cried tears streaming down her face.
"Tonks?!" Remus shouted sending one last curse at a masked Death Eater.
The couple ran at each other and embraced giving each other a quick kiss on the lips putting all their love into it knowing they would most likely not survive. They quickly let go feeling people come up behind them, soon they were both locked in a duel: Tonks with Rookwood and Lupin with Bellatrix, dueling not only for their life but for each others. Remus backed up so he was sure he was close to his wife and grabbed her hand, if he was going to die it would be with her.
"Tonks. . ." He said.
"Yes." She replied while shooting a curse toward her Death Eater.
"I LOVE YOU!!"
"I Love you too!" Tonks said with compassion.
And a split second after she said that Bellatrix shot a killing curse right at his heart.
"NOOOOOO!!" Tonks screamed.
She shot one last curse at Rookwood and he fell to the ground. Still holding Lupin's hand she began to duel Bellatrix as she had never dueled before. Bellatrix laughed at the death of Lupin.
"Ready to join him?" Bellatrix asked.
"After you!" Tonks said and sent a blue curse at her heart.
Bellatrix dodged it just in time and while Tonks prepared to fire another one, Bellatrix sent a jet of green light right above Tonks' heart. The killing curse hit and Tonks hit the ground holding her husbands hand.
