Her teachers and friends had always been worried about her. She was kind and caring, nothing wrong with her, except that she was always waiting, just waiting for someone.
When she was younger, she would tell stories about a boy her age with warm eyes and a gentle smile; she would say that one day she would run into him, look into his eyes, and be with him forever.
When she was older, she was always watching for a slender boy with tousled brown hair. Her friends noticed and tried to set her up with boys, but she would only gracefully decline. When asked why, she always said, It's not him, a lilt in her voice emphasizing the "him" more poignantly than any italics ever could.
Sakura-chan, they'd say. You don't need some prince to come rescue you. You just need you.
But she would only smile a sweet, yet enigmatic smile. I'm not meant to do this alone, she'd say. He's not coming just to rescue me.
She was right, you know. Syaoran wasn't coming to rescue Sakura. He was coming so that they would finally be together, and together they would rescue the future.
(A/N: This is just some speculation on my part about the Syaoran and Sakura who became Tsubasa Syaoran's parents, so please correct me if I have made any canonical errors. Reviews are much appreciated, even if they're just two words long, it's nice to know that people actually read these.)
