CANA OFTEN FOUND herself wondering about the world.
She would then attempt to drink those thoughts away.
One day, she wondered why she needed to be strong to confront her father.
She pulled out a barrel and superficial charm to drown out all feeling.
One day, Macao told her to loosen down on the booze.
She did.
The next day, he got a new girlfriend.
And the drinks were doubled.
One day, Cana got interviewed for Sorcerers' Weekly.
She put on a saucy smile and had vodka instead of beer.
One day, someone told her to be more serious.
She threw a barrel at them and threw her head back in a mock laugh, wondering where she went wrong.
One day, a new girl came into the guild, shocked by Cana's habits.
Cana watched as they all told her it was normal.
One day, as burning liquid poured down her lips, Cana began to think.
That was forbidden, but she couldn't get herself to keep on drinking.
One day, Lucy and she were together.
When they took the exams, Cana couldn't help but hope things would change.
One day, Cana didn't drink.
The bottle was carried for vanity.
One day, Cana looked at Lucy.
Everything began to change.
One day, Cana got her father back.
But time could not be reversed. (It was a good thing booze would last.)
One day, Cana hoped Lucy would approach her and be her friend.
She didn't.
One day, seven years had passed.
Everything was exactly the same.
One day, Cana saw Lucy suffer.
She had her friends; Cana had her beer.
The next day, she saw the same thing.
Thoughts consumed, and drink didn't burn her throat.
One day, Cana began to think about her feelings.
She stuck with a glass of scarlet red wine.
One day, Cana saw Juvia stare at Gray.
She put a barrel up to hide Lucy from her vision.
One day, Cana went on a mission with Lucy.
Nothing happened and it was perfect.
One day, Lucy's best friend was gone.
Cana brought wine and Lucy brought tears.
One day, their home was forgotten.
Cana brought drinks. Lucy was with Levy.
One day, she saw an article.
She downed bourbon and tried to forget about the author.
One day, their home was remembered.
Cana brought her family; so did Lucy.
One day, Cana brought champagne and smiles.
One night, everything was perfect.
One day, they had all left on an impossible quest.
Cana's mind forbade the booze.
One day, Cana didn't want to think.
It was the same as all the others.
One day, Cana forgot the same way she did every time.
The beer trickled down, but the pain remained.
One day, Cana hoped that things would be different.
But they were exactly the same. And so was she.
One day, Cana realized that things wouldn't change.
She couldn't take it. So she took the barrel.
EVERYDAY, IT WAS exactly the same.
Cana didn't like it. But she couldn't change it.
THE LAST DAY, everything was the same.
And that was why it ended.

Please?
I didn't actually mean for this to be CanaxLucy.
I didn't mean for a lot of things.
But, like, all of my stories are gay so...
ya.
This is rooted from the idea that if Macao was liked as he was her drinking buddy, but Lucy could stop her from drinking, maybe some sort of feeling could be born.
Being an alcoholic isn't something normal or something to be dismissed, fantasy world or not.
Check out my other stories!
All of them are kinda gay or really gay.
